One day as I was sitting in my office, my employer came in and dictated a letter to me. To my surprise it was to an old classmate Jarvis Campbell, who for the past ten years has been President of the First Citizens Bank in Grimesland. His secretary is Cora Singleton, another classmate. Hearing the names of these two members of the class of ' 52 caused me to begin thinking about my other classmates and how successful they have been. Several members of the class are living in Raleigh. Clarence Boyd is a well-known lawyer there. Annie Ree Hardee has made her debut into North Carolina Society and is now happily married. Wayland Elks is manager of Hudson-Belk and Clara Bland is cashier. Janie Gurganus is a telephone operator at Bell Telephone Company. Billy Boyd and Bobby Reid are the greatest stars on the Washington Capitol ' s basketball team. Maurice Evans is the President ' s personal bodyguard. Robert Bland has now taken over the job of Chief of Police in Greenville. Nellie Jenkins is a grammar grade teacher at E. C. C. Training School in Greenville. Coye Hardee has set up a business selling old and new cars. Frankie Rouse is a pilot for Trans-World Airlines and La Rue Brame is a stewardess for the same airlines. Jimmy Woolard is the proud papa of six children and owns a 2,000 acre ranch in Texas. Janie Hill is drawing beautiful calendar pictures for the Coca-Cola Company. After thinking of my classmates, I went back to work pleased with the careers each of them had chosen. Prophet.- PEGGY WAGONER Time has passed swiftly since we began school at Grimesland in the year 1940. We had many struggles during grammar school but soon we were on the road to success. Finally we entered high school in the year ' 48. We had an enrollment of 45 carefree boys and girls. With the help of home room teacher, Mr. Bob Wheeler, we had a successful ninth grade. The biggest event of our sophomore year was a Basket Party which was directed by our teacher, Mrs. Annie Ruth Cozart. Come ' 50, we were proud juniors. The Junior-Senior Banquet was the big highlight of this year which we gave to the seniors under the supervision of Mrs. Cozart. Another thrilling event was our Junior Play, AUNT TILLIE GOES TO TOWN which was a great success. This year, 51-52, we entered school with an enrollment of 17 dignified seniors . We regret losing 6 of our members since the end of our junior year but we are very glad to add two new members, Janie Hill and Novella Boyd, to our class. Our Senior Play, MARGIE AND THE WOLF MAN, will make history because we feel sure it will be long remembered by those who saw it. Under the careful guidance of Mrs. Cozart, who has been our home room teacher for the past three years, we have become a winning class. LA RUE BRAME Historian
