FRESHMAN First Row- Beverly Osborne, Sherry Benton, Mary Lint, Merle Baer, Jeanene Taylor. Second Row- Miss Snyder, Joyce Danielson Willard House, Eldon Bohrofen, Ronnie Brooks, Maryan Shipley. Th.1rd Row- Loretta Davidson, Warren Blggmfield, Ed'im1 Bartelt, Lewis Bogaard, Raedine Urfer. Not here for pictures, Pete Limprecht On September 1, 1955 sixteen green freshmen entered the Grimes High School. The subjects offered us were general science, algebra, English, and junior business. Class officers were: President..............Merle Baer Vice-President.... ...Lewis Bogaard Secretary...........l..Raedine Urfer Treasurer..............Edwin Bartelt Miss Snyder was our class sponsor. On September 26 we had our initiation. Every one dress- ed up as the seniors told us and had a lot of fun. Those out for basketball were Loretta, Sherry, Maryan, Mary, Raedine, and Beverly. Maryam, Mary, Beverly, Joyce Ann, and Raedine lent out for Glee Club. Eldon and Warren went out for football and Eldon, Warren and Lewis went out for basketball. Edwin and Maryan were out for band. During the year we lost Janet Reeser but gained Peter Limprecht. We had a lot of fun during our freshmen year but are not looking forward to being sophomores.

Dennis treads out to the hog lot. Twila finishes book. Dennis peels back to house. Forgot his shoes. Karen's alarm goes off. Fran gets up to wipe dust off his car. Carol gets up to wash her hair. Fran goes back to bed. Karen finally gets up to study economics. Dolores pulls the covers over ner head and goes back to sleep. Rudy wakes up the town with his noisy car. Buck gets up, doesn't know why, so he goes back to bed. Louise falls out of bed reaching for her glasses. Doris Ann gets up to practice her jump shot. Daisey gets up to finish last nights unfinished love story. Dolores' mother calls. KLast warningll Buck gets up to shave, but decides to let whiskers 30-another Marvin drives by Karen's. Janis gets up and cuts her hair. Karen gets to school. Dolores gets up. Carol finishes dressing and heads for school. Daisey walks into school eating her breakfast. In candy bar? Twila falls over a desk. Must you read all the time, Twila? Someone is heard giggling in the hall. Doris Ann is here. Louise and Tom walk in. Dolores comes to school to study economics. Fran wakes up and decides not to go to school. Dennis' 'A' makes it again. Rudy rushes through town on way to school. Buzzer rings. Mr. Smith takes roll. Disturbance in the hall. Janis walks in. Rudy asks for class meeting. Seniors ask to go sell ads. No luck. Classes pass. Mr. Smith discusses economics. ALQNE. Mr. Smith gives test in economics. Sad seniors. All flunk test but Twila. Smith gives terms in economics. Mr. Smith keeps class overtime and rings buzzer late. Half the seniors go to literature class. Other half go to class after having emptied water fountain. Rudy makes a bright remark. Class dies laughing. Rudy receives lecture on speaking and courtesy. Class under control. Mrs. Olney lectures rest of class. Pin drops--Everyone jumps! Buzzer rings. Rudy apologizes. Seniors listen at door. Seniors go in the back room to work on the annual. Fran remains in seat to do economics. Miss Snyder wants correction on typing. Physics class gives Miss Snyder trouble. Fran goes out to get a drink and goes home to dinner. Buzzer rings. Seniors pass to lunch. Senior girls tread up town. Carol goes out to talk to Larry. Doris Ann tries to tell a funny joke. Louise goes to sit with Tom. Mr. Smith patrols the assembly. Senior boys return from the station. day
