Class Histor In 1943 five first graders enrolled at Grimes School. They were, Carolyn Kallem, Phyllis Rosenberg, Judy Folk, Winnie Madison and Jo Anne Ostrander. Our teacher was Mrs. Ivah Butler. In the second grade we were glad to welcome Marilyn Render and we were greeted again by Mrs. Butler. In third grade we lost Marilyn Render and gained Shirley McDowell and Joe House. Terry Merlcal joined us later that year bringing our number up to sever. Our teacher was Miss Helen Seibert. In fourth grade we lost Joe House and Terry Merical. We sained no new students that year. Our teacher was Mrs. Briggs. When fifth grade began we PFUHG Joe House back with us again, making our number seven once more. Also during that year we were,happy to have Barbara Baer, Lavern Greif, and Susan Albersonljoin us. 'Our group now numbered ten. Again we were greeted by a different teacher, Miss Pagliai. In sixth grade two new students enrolled with us. They were Edwin Baer and Marilyn Smith. Later this year we lost Marilyn who roved back to Waukee and ve also lost Shirley'MoDowell. We were happy to gain'Pati Biery and Leroy Bailey. Our teacher was Miss Pagliai. In seventh grade we found we had lost Leroy Bailey and Susan Alterson. Margie Mudgett enrolled with us that year. Our teacher this year was Nrs. Cuddy. In eighth grade Larry King joined us but moved away during the Year' Tom Wooters also joined us this year, and Judy Folk moved away. When eighth grade graduation came around there were nune in the graduating class. They were Joe House, Carolyn Kallem, Marjorie Mudgett, Tom Wooters, Particle Biery, Phyllis Rosenberp, Ed Baer, Lavern Greif, and Barbara Baer, with Mr. Erps as our teacher. Upon starting our high School career Mrs. Pchlueter was our sponsor. Beverly Boston and Mary Roche, enrolled with us and Allyn Guess joined us during the year. In our Sonhomor year Mr. Smith was our sponsor. Charles Stefani and Terry Merical enrolled with us. Tom Wooters left us this year and moved to Granger. ' Our Junior year began with thirteen students enrolling and again Mr, Smith was our sponsor. Mary Roche moved to Qtuart during this year. As Seniors we row have thirteen Students. They are Carolyn Kallem, Phyllis Rosenberg, Ed Baer, Joe House, Terry Merical, Ron Widdel, Allyn Guesg, Ch9p119 Stefani, Lavern Greif, Marge Mudgett, Pati Biery, Beverly Euston, and Barbara Baer, We were happy to have Ron Widdel join us. nly two seniors have gone to Grimes from first grade through their senior year. lllass Will Ronnie Widdel wills his ability to sharpen pencils to Bill Cassady. Allyn Guess wills his perfect penmanship to Jesse House. Senior boys will their hot rod abilities to the freshman boys. Pati and Bev. will their cheerleading suits to the cheerleaders of next year and hope they put them to good use. The Senior Class wills their perfect attendance to any class of the future. Ed Baer and Allyn Guess will their ability to annoy Hr. Kallemyn and Mr. Smith, to Gene Seibert and Tom Dray. Beverly Boston wills her long hair to Winnie Madison. The Seniors wish they had the ability to pay attention in Socialogy class so they could bequeath to the sophomores. Marge Mudgett wills her ability to keep the same man for two and a half years to Joyce Slauson. Phyllis Rosenberg wills her ability to break lamps to Louise Stefani Joe House wills his torn and tattered books to Mel Bauman. Phyllis Rosenberg wills her even desposition to Nancy Paulson. And we hope she uses it to the best of her ability, Carolyn Kallem wills her laughing at her own jokes to Doris B. Charles Stefani wills his slender physique to Alfred Seibert. Lavern Greif wills his mannerly ways to Rudy Wipperman. Terry Herical wills his many girl friends to David Bogaard. Phyllis and Bev will their part time job to Charlotte Brown and Phyllis Morris. Barbara Baer wills her tap dancing ability to Barbara Olive. CAN YOU IMAGINE! TERRY MERICAL ---- ----------- Staying home one night!
