5 -Z, THROUGH TIE CRYSTAL BALL Q Well, here it is May, 1963, ten years after our graduation from the Grimes High School. We will begin our story at a small air-field just outside of San Antonio, Texas. The name of the air-field is HDuane's Flying Serv1ce.H The manager in charge is none other than Duane Fullerton, one of the graduates of 1953. As he sat down to open his mail he came across a small envelope which came to be a baby announcement from the former Joyce Weiser. Duane decided he would go to California and visit them. With his wife, a former Grimes student, and their three girksand boy they boarded a plane and soon landed atCalifornia. Joyce and her husband met them in their new yellow mercury convertible. with Joyce's four children it made a happy gathering. In the course of the conver- sation Joyce said that Drain Station and that while swimming at Camp the pool and she saved wonder what had become to Grimes. Enroute to he too his married. It Millie had his own Phillips 66 station--Will's Pump and seems Will met his wife one day Dodge, he stubbed his toe and fell into the deep end of him from drowning. Hearing about Willie, Duane began to of the rest of the class so he decided he would fly back Grimes he noticed the gas tadcwas registering near empty so he thought he better land as soon as possible. The airport looked familiar buthe couldn't quite place him mechanic at the Denver so he asked himhis name. He replied Bob Wooters. It seems after school Wooters had began to grow andnow he is 6' 4U and weighs 200 pounds. Comparing notes it seems he marrieda former girl friend from Urbandale and always enjoyingwork on cars hadbecome a airplane mechanic. It was getting late so Duane boarded the plane again and they came on to Grimes. Approaching Grimes they noticed an airport just outside of town. Upon landing a taxi came along side of them and asked them if they wanted a ide. Duane noticed that the driver of the taxi was none other than his old classmate Bob Slauson. Bob, after his stretch in the air force was stationed in Alaska and caught a bad case of pneumonia and was taken to the hospital. While there he fell in love with one of his nurses and as soon as he was released from the hospital he married her. He never could resist women. Bob drove them to the home of Harold Bohrofen's. them that Joann uit colle e after one ear to marr a There Mrs. Bohrofen told rich lawyer who she met towards the Oyres home. He found Q E Y Y at college. At the present time they are living in a City. Duane also inquired about Beverly Peterson. It as a secretary for some time. One day thought she needed three children. Upon leaving the that Jean eloped right out of high school with some big business man and she stumbled over her feet someone to watch over her Bohrofen home Duane headed big mansion in New York seems Beverly had worked had been his secret admirer for and as her boss picked her up he so hermarried her. She now has her ideal, a former sailor from Granger, and that they are now living in Des Moines with their four children Mrs. Oyres also told us that she just received a letter from Jean, and it seems that they have been having quite a bit of rain in Des Moines. Well one day dur- ing a recent rain storm, Jean had her mouth open--talking of course--and almost drowned. I guess Kenny got to say a few words for a change. Another former classmate, Mrs. Oyres said had decided not to marry and was living in Missouri This was Shirley Madison, she had bought a 16 room house and was raising cats for the whole neighborhood. This completed the history about everybody excep:Dale Johnson so Duane asked Bob if he had heard from him. Yes, Dale had written him. He now lives in Wash- ington D. C. as a F. B. I. worker. After school he married a former sweetheart from Tech in Des Moines and they now had three sets of twins. Climbing aboard the airplane agai15Duane waved goodbye toBob and they became airborne. He decided that the class had fared pretty welland everyone washappy so giving the controls to his co-pilot Duane fell asleep for the rest of the journey home. HOOVER LUIBER CO. DALLAS CENTER

SENIOR CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of 1953, realize that the time is drawing near when we must depart from this domain of complete pleasure and happiness. Being sound in health, mind, and memory, we make, publish, and declare this writing to be our last will and testament. First of all we, the Seniors, leave to the underclassmen, all gum under the desks, all initials in the tables, and our tattered books. Joann Bohrofen wills her ability to get her dad's car every night to Charlie Stefani. Beverly Peterson wills her typing ability toBruce Andrus. Maybe now he can get those assignments done. Joyce Weiser wills her ability toget a Waukee class ring toCarolyn Kallem pro- viding Carolyn can keep it as long Jean Oyres wills her talkative Twila doesn't use it to the extent Bob Wooters willshis car driving doesn't scare himself to death. Will Weiser leaves his bus route all, a bus holds more anyway. Shirley Madison wills her pretty as Joyce has. ways to Twila Seibert. Our only hope is that that Jean does. ability hoLaVerne Greig in hopes that LaVerne toanyone without a car tnrun around in. After and neat hair to Karen Grimm. Duane Fullerton leaves Betty Tuttle toRoger Bloomfield and Francis Guess. You can fight over her yourselves now, boys. Bob Slauson wills his red bleached hair to Jym Biddle. Dale Johnson wills his school-skipping ability to Ed Baer. We only hope that Ed has a better excuse than to say he is going to work. Jean Oyres wills her many boyfriends to Lois Wieser. Shirley Madison wills her telephone conversation ability to anyone who wants to fight with a certain Waukee boy. Joann Bohrofen wills her good grades to her little sister, Janice. Joyce Weiser wills her basketball ability to Carol Gintzell. Duane Fullerton wills his old wrecked Ford to anyone who will have it and take better care of it than he did. Will Weiser wills his ability to get Jym Biddle's answers all the time,to Mar- ilyn Bohrofen, as if she'll ever need them. Beverly Peterson wills her man troubles to Kay Adrian. By the looks of it now, Kay never has any trouble. Dale Johnson wills his Romeo ways Che thinks anywayj to Dennis Bohrofen. Bob Slauson wills his class ring to any girl who is sucker enough to take it, We only hope she kee s it for at least one whole week. Bob Wooters wills he Urbandale girls to Roger Bartelt. They're all yours now, 5 Roger. In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal in Grimes, Iowa, on May fourth, nineteen hundred and fifty three.
