We will now have election of officers. The primary purpose of this first meeting was to elect class officers. Wil- liam Weiser was chosen presidentg Joyce Weiser, vice-president, Robert secretaryg Jean Oyres, treasurer. We signed up for advanced algebra, typing, economics and governmeng can literature, and school was under way. On November 2, we had our class play, 'The Wild Oats B0Y,n whichwas thanks to the able assistance of Mrs. Schleuter. We had quite a few sportsmen and women in our class. All the for football and all but one boy was out for basketball. There girls out for basketballg Jean Oyres and Joyce Weiser. Bloomfield Gerald Lloyd Plumb Peitzman Soplrvmvrm The Sophomores of the year of'l95l-52 entered with eleven members on the 3rd day of September. At the beginning of the school year we elected officers of our class. we chose as president--Roger Bloomfield, vice-president--Melvin Wiles, secretary-- David Wiese, treasurer--Jerold Plumb. The subjects that we were assigned were speech, English, geometry, and world history. In November our speech class went on a tour in which we visited WOI-TV Ames, and radio stations in Des Moines, and then completed the tour at a show in the alternoon. In February our speech class presented a play, NThe Headles:Ghost.W We al- so took part in sports this year. In footballwe were representedby Melvin Wiles Larry Seibert, Roger B100mf1e1d, and James Biddle. In basketball the girls tak- ing part were Sylvia Pinegar, Marilyn Bohrofen, and Ruth Kinsey, and the boys were Melvin Wiles, Larry Seibert, James Biddle, Ronald Hayes, and Loyd Peitzman. To end up our activities of the year, we had e class party. We will agree we all had a very enjoyable year with our sponsor, Mrs. Johnson.
