M, prznczpal s 4: Message The year 1959 lS one of rapid world change in both human re lations and scientific advance Education IS under close scrutiny and pressure from many different directions There have been and will be changes in our schools as a result of lncreased emphasis on ed ucation You the members of the class of 1959 are already a part of this high school and W111 f1ndth1s 1n college also Opportunities for train ing above h1gh school levels are becoming more readily available in North Carolina We have a variety of colleges area industrial train 1ng schools business schools schools of nursing and others I challenge each of you to avail yourself of these opportunities for training' The tra1ned person 1S the one most likely to ach1eve economic security 1n the years ahead One mustbe trained in order to achieve success 1n an occupation but that 1S not all He must be sk1lled 1n human relat1ons He must be able to get along well w1th others These are two goals that should be almost as one Occupat1onal skill and the ab1l1ty to get along well with others are both essential to successful and happy l1v1ng I trust that the members of this grad uatmg class and the others of our school can exercise enough fore thought and planning to achieve both of the goals 1n their l1ves Best Wishes Always E B Bright Principal 0 0 , ! 2 ' change.
