Our first business ventures turned out to be successes - theplay, OFF THE TRACK, magazine sale and Womanless Wedding. A Beta Club was established in our school. Many of the juniors were charter members. The theme for our Junior- Senior was Southern Plantation. We thought the gym looked like a work of art. Again at gradua- tion Emily Nelson and Wilma Patrick were our marshals. In August 1958 we officially became the Senior Class oi Grifton High School. I2 3 K

With the coming of fall, basketball season began. Esther Coward and Emily Nelson were chosen team Co-Captains. Nancy Smith was Chief Cheerleader. In order to make a dream trip to New Yorka reality, the seniors became cotton pickers , actors and actresses,and peddlers of candy, foun- tainpens , cake and ham chances. The crowning social event of the year was the Junior-Senior. Finally on May 25 came the long awaited day, graduation and thus ended our memo- rable high school days. I4 fix 'VUWQQ 'K '?
