usT Will m numm We, the Senior Class of 1954, Grifton High School, Pitt County, do hereby state this our last will and testament. Article I: To Mr. Bright our Principal, we wish to express our thanks for helping us through our Senior year. Article II: To the faculty members we leave our appreciation for their patience and gentleness toward us. Article III: Tothe Junior Class, we leave our dignified ways, and the honor of sponsor- ing the Griftonian. To the Sophomores, the seniors ability to play basketball. To the Freshmen, we leave our talkative ways. Article IV: Our individual bequests are as follows: Since small figures are so attractive, Betty Boswell leaves her weight to Merle Mills. We think Wayne Ervin is mighty lucky, because Mac Lancaster leaves him his appetite. Beulah Burroughs leaves a few of her quite ways to Geraldine Adams; maybe Dora Mae can get a word in now. To keep Grifton on the winning side Colleen Braxton leaves her basketball capabilities to Peggy Dixon. Bernard McLawhorn is wondering where he will go nights after school, since he is leaving his ability to go steady to Robert Reaves, C Since Edna and Gertrude Lewis already have their wedding rings, they leave their charms to Dawn Smith. To help Peggy Buck out in the office next year, Joyce Dennis leaves her efficiency. Not because Pat Stokes needs any gift in neatness, but because Bill Jackson likes her, he leaves all of his ideas concerning the subject. Bill Burroughs should consider himself very fortunate, as Sam Gooding has decided to leave him his curly hair. To help Marlene Dudley be Chief Marshall next year, Phyllis Jackson leaves her some of her A ' s. Maybe good looks has a little to do with going through school so quickly. If so, Robert Butler, watch out, you will be graduating soon , because Bobby Cole leaves his good looks to you. To Jo Ann Hardison, in order for her to enjoy her high school days, Harriet Stocks wishes to leave her silly giggles. Frederick Rhodes leaves his reckless driving to Billy Harris; Good luck Billy. To Bob McCotter, Franklin Vandiford leaves his trick of looking innocent when caught in mischief. Phyllis Haddock leaves her baby ways to Alfred Boswell. Maybe Alfred will act his age now. Thinking Ronald McGlohon takes everything as a joke, Alvis Harris and Marjorie Dean Butler leave their serious ways to him, hoping he will settle down during his senior year. William Purser leaves his abilities to anyone who can find them, hoping the finder will be Worth Craft. Signed by — Senior Class of 1954 Joyce Dennis
