Tuesday was Dress-up Day where the students donned their best clothes. Wednesday was Class day. On this day the freshmen wore two different shoes, the sophomores ties, the juniors sunglasses, and the seniors hats. Thursday was Hawaiian Day, when many students wore Bermuda shorts and Hawaiian shirts to school. Friday was Purple and Cold day and the day of Ffomecoming. The pep rally was full of cheer with all four classes screaming their lungs out for the sports teams. After the parade through town, it came time for the judging of our Homecoming Queen. The winner for 1987 was Tracy Centner. Her court consisted of Tami Burns, Dawn Valentine, Laurie Salvini, (anise Orton, Amy Harris, Marnie Freeman, and Christine Dzierzanowski. The varsity football team, hosting Cheektowaga, was victorious by a score of 42 to 12, bringing the 1987 Homecoming to an exciting end. HALLOWEEN 6 The scene is Friday morning. As you walk into school, you look around and see Merlin in the Magician, Darth Vader, and the Noid from Domino's Pizza! Ffold it, calm down, it's only Halloween. Although many mysterious ceratures roamed the halls that Friday, by Monday morn- ing the custodial staff had done an excellent job of dis- posing of them. FLAG FOOTBALL The Junior Senior flag foot- ball game ended the same as it does almost every year. The Seniors smashed the Ju- niors with a tremendous score. The Juniors were coached by Mr. Maderski and the Seniors coach was Mr. Zwierzchowski. SENIOR FLAG FOOTBALL Row 1 P. Dollas, T. Gentner, K. Maganoe, Row 2 C. Lukowski, D. Call, J. Becker, K. Wells, L. SADIES DANCE VALENTINES DAY 10 Valentine's day arrived in the C.l. halls on a snowy, stormy Friday. There were many assorted colors of carnations, Several dozen roses, and a couple of heliem balloons. Love was in the air with celibration and fun for all. JUNIOR-SENIOR PLAY The Junior-Senior play for 1987 was a tremendous success. It was based upon the murder mystery The Mousetrap by Agatha Chris- tie. Although there were only eight characters, they carried off the production brilliantly with only two flaws in the entire two night preformance. CHRISTMAS BALL 14 Christmas 1987 was amazing this year. The Christmas ball was a per- fect gift to the students from the school. The ball was held in the middle school. The music provid- ed consisted of new and older tunes. An added bonus was the giving away of glasses designed for the occasion. There were 98 couples. Another event was the annusl Christmas Party the last day before vacation. The classes were shortened and students stayed to watch old movies, dance, play tag and many other things. From our freshman through our senior years, there have been times we remember and times we'd rather forget. Like they say about high school, These are the best years of your life ... so far. In our freshman year we elected class officers: President, Anne Krezmien; Vice President, Michele Duprey; Secretary, Linda Carbone; and Treasurer, Kim Stearns. In our sophomor year Michele Duprey moved up to President, Julie Oakley was our Vice President, Linda Carbone was Secretary and Kelly Skelton was Treasurer. Our class advisor was Mr. Harrison. In our junior year Mr. Madurski was our class advisor. Michele Duprey was President, Laurie Salvine as Vice-President, Linda Carbone as Secretary and Kelly Skelton as Treasurer. The annual flag football game, held on November 4, resulted in a 6-6 tie between the junior and senior girls. Much of the junior's success was owed to Coach Zwierchowski. The Junior Prom took place on May 9. Janise Orton was crowned Queen and Glenn Weber was crowned King. Janise's court consisted of Lisa Blesy, Linda Carbone, Chris Dzierznowski, Mamie Freeman, Tracy Gentner and Tracey Mason. Our Senior Class Advisor is Mr. Kaufman. When the staff meets, it is not unusual to see the photographers huddled together around a pile of newly developed photos. They laugh and share stories about particular shots. The staff of- ten comments on how they wish the readers could hear what their subject in the picture had said. Well, here's your chance. Homework? No! Its uh, well, Art History. Ya that's the ticket. . . . and this kid thinks Michelangelo is married to Madonna. In addition to all that, you also get a free lifetime supply of saltwater. 122 The Zorkons just nuked my Vorpal Craft! HEAR WHAT THEY SAID 125 WHO'S IS IT? Part of the Yearbook Staff's job is to find out who people are in the photos. Sometimes, just for fun, the staff also investigates other objects in the photo. Here are a few examples. A Part of Us Special to each of us give Giving us a friendship that was rare But the world is a better place Once upon a time Because he had the chance to live There was a special friend A friend who also felt One who filled our lives with The happiness, joy, and fears It is unfair laughter That so many of us feel And we ask ourselves why And cheered us 'till the end About the coming years Why it had to happen To such a special guy A friend who was always there And now so much has changed Whenever we felt down Our little buddy is gone away And why the world keeps spinning One who could always But deep inside each of us Oblivious to what we feel Bring a smile from a frown A part of him will stay Paying no attention to the hurt That has yet to heal A friend who loved life The part that filled out days And got much out of it With laughter and a smile But like the world, we must go on Making others happy The part that will be with us As hard as it may be With his clever wit To help us go the miles Forever keeping him with us A part of you and me A friend who was the best The part that has brought At everything he could be Closer together you and me Once upon a time One who met every challenge Because we all know Is now, this very day And lived his life successfully That's how he'd want us to be Because a friend to each of us Brett Brady Drexler will stay A friend who with which Yes, it is unfair Janise Orton, February 7, 1988 Many good times we did share Because he had so much more to 178 Tragically, on February 6, 1988, a member of our senior class, Brett Drexler was killed in a car acci- dent, only one month after his brother Joe, suf- fered the same fate. Brett was on his way to Whiteface Mountain to compete in a ski race, something he loved to do. Brett was very active and successful in ski racing, and had just qualified to compete among the top New York State racers in the Trophy Alpine Racing Series. Brett loved all sports, especially snow skiing, waterskiing, windsurfing and soccer. In addition, Brett ex- celled in academics, ranked 17th in his class, with a 92.4 average and planned to study marine biol- ogy at the college of William and Mary, in Virginia. But Brett's most outstanding quality was his inter- action with people. Brett knew more people and had more friends that one could imagine. A friendship with Brett was special and full of hap- piness, in that he was loyal, trustworthy and al- ways tried to make people laugh. One never had a dull moment when spending time with Brett. Although he is gone, memories of Brett remain in our minds, and his spirit remains in our hearts.
