Mr. Frederic Fineour, our Assistant Superintendent of Schools, holds a B.S. degree from Hamilton College and a Masters degree from Cor- nell University. He came to Springville as a science teacher in 1927, and in 1931 became principal of Collins Center School. In 1952 Mr. Fineour became Supervisor of our elementary schools in the central district. He has watched Springville evolve from a one building school system into one of the largest independentdistrictsin Western New York. Mr. Fineour's wife, Esther, is the senior high school nurse and at- tendance officer. They have three children. Reflections from the Lyle G. Palmer Auditorum Lyle G. Palmer Lyle G. Palmer. What is G? Mr. Edward J. Sakowski became Griffith Institute's first Superintendent of Schools on July 1, 1967. A former district principal of Lyndonville Cen- tral School, Mr. Sakowski has brought to his new position a broad background of experience as an elementary school teacher and principal, and as an as- sistant superintendent of schools in Wyoming County, in addition to his district principalship. He holds a B.A. from Houghton College with o major in Social Studies, an M.S. in Education from State University College at Buffalo and St. Bona- venture University, Olean. During the fall of 1967 Mr. Sakowski participated in o European Seminar of Comparative Education which visited schools in Yugoslavia, Greece, U.S.S.R., Poland and East Germany. In his former position he was actively involved with Lions Club, Boy Scouts, 4-H, AFS, and various church organizations. Mr. and Mrs. Sakowski have three children. Mark and Janine are present- ly seniors in Attica Central School, and Jonathan attends junior high school in the same district.
