Due to a scarcity of teachers today, the teacher ' s career is encouraged by the Future Teachers of Ameri- ca. To financially aid students going into the teaching field, the club awards scholarships to graduating sen- iors in the organization, and is now working on a larger scholarship fund sponsored by many local organizations and industries. The club earns most of its funds by the sale of ice cream at noon hour and at dances. Heading the F.T.A. are Connie Smith, vice-president; Joan Fitzpat- rick, secretary; Kathie Zimmerman, treasurer; Vicki Perotti, presi- dent; Mr. Dalton, sponsor.

The goal of the radio club is the establishment of a radio station here at GHS. The members of the club work on fund-raising projects to finance such a station. The members of the radio club are learning how to operate the radio station once it is established. Members and officers of the Photog- raphy Club are from the left: Terry Crowe, secretary,- John Stokes, treas- urer,- Jim Petrick; Don Parkhurst, presi- dent; Tim Dertow,- Mr. Fiscus, sponsor. The purpose of the photog- raphy club is to further photog- raphy as a hobby and to prepare its members for a future career. F.N.A. The Griffith Chapter of the Future Nurse ' s Club is in its third year at Griffith High School. The purpose of the club is to encourage aspiring young women to seek a career in the field of nursing. To attain this goal the club visits hospital, nursing homes, and other institutions connected with the nursing profession. The money earned is used to finance scholarships for members of the club who are going into nurse ' s training.
