STUDENT COUNCIL The student council ' s main purpose is to serve as a liaison between student and teachers and to work for a better relationship between the two. This year as in past years the club sponsored Home- coming and the talent show. Among its many other worthwhile projects, the Council buys the records for our dances and contributes money to charity. They also sponsored the collecting of used clothing for the Save the Children Federation. Officers are Kathie Zimmerman, president; Bob Ulm, treasurer; Sharon Satterblom, secretary; and Dick King, vice-president. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Officers and members of the National Honor Society are SEATED: Mr. O ' Rourke, sponsor, Dick Dolson, president, Virginia Dyer, vice- president, Mr. Vaughn, sponsor, STANDING: Sue McCormick, Sharon Satterbloom, secretary, Linda Mikuta, treasurer, Kathie Zimmerman. The Griffith High School Honor Society is a chapter of a nation wide organization. The purpose of this society is to stimulate leadership, scholarship, service, and character in the students. The members of this organization are recognized as the future leaders of our country. They are encouraged to take their places as the leaders of our country. To be a member of the Honor Society, a student must have a B average for six semesters of work and must be approved by the teachers. The Honor Society will continue to tutor the students that are having difficulty with their studies.

BOOSTER CLUB Membership in the Booster Club is open to all students who are willing to support their team by attending all home games and cheering them on to victory. The purpose of the organization is to arouse more interest in the games, promote a better cheering section, and encourage school spirit. These attempts are empha- sized by the use of capes, cards, and white gloves with many of the cheers. This year the Booster Club was again sponsored by Miss Whitlock. Officers of the Booster Club are: Sheila Stockwill, secretary, Karen Schreiner, treasurer; Virginia Switzer, vice-president; Toni Gullickson, president.
