OUR PRINCIPAL To our chief navigator, Mr. Petrich, we express our heartfelt gratitude for a course well chartered. It was he who mapped out our voyage and has kept us on that course. Although sailing has sometimes been rough, we have reached our cherished destination as a result of his careful strategy. Due to his wise and superb navigation, we have been able to reach port without becoming grounded in the sandbars. Can you imagine a ship without a captain? Well, that is what Griffith High would be like without Mr. Paul Petrich. In a school the size of Griffith, it is imperative to have someone who can shoulder the responsibilities and assume the leadership. His excellent leadership has brought Griffith through many rough spots. To some of you, Mr. Petrich ' s office is a very mysterious room, but to a few it is a common resting place. No matter how you regard it, many impor- tant decisions are made there. Just im- agine yourself as the head of Griffith High for just one day. People would be running into your office asking you what they should do about this problem and that one,- then there might be an unexpected important guest coming to look over the school, so you would have to drop everything to show him around the school personally. All in all, Griffith High wouldn ' t be the smooth running school it is today without Mr. Petrich.
