The scenes in classes and on the campus are changing rapidly with the changing times. The SPOTLIGHT this year is published by the first twelfth grade in the history of Griffin High School. Seventeen students comprise the Senior Class, the smallest graduating class in many years at Griffin High. This small class faces many new problems-problems created by the exigencies of war. With the drafting of the eighteen-year-olds, the boys in our class will go forth from graduation into the armed services. Perhaps some of our girls will serve in uniform. To fit the boys for this service and the girls for war-time duties at home, a Victory Corp has been added to the curriculum of Griffin High School. The Victory Corp is a physical fitness program whose pur- pose is to get every boy and girl in our high school in top physical condition. Not only must we go out and fight for vic- tory, but we must be able to make a desirable and lasting peace. We shall have to rebuild the post-war world into a place that will be pleasant to live and work in. Hence it is vitally essential that high school students of today malre the most of every opportunity to develop into clear-thinking citizens, willing and capable of accepting the responsibilities of being world citizens. After the war is over and the world has settled into a fairly normal state, we hope this I943 edition of the SPOTLIGHT will help to recall the peaceful days spent at Griffin High. 1 gf fy 7 i.
