Grier graduated from Lafayette College, he beeame eo-principal of Kishaeoquillas QBig Valleyj Seminary. When he was twenty-six years old, he, with his wife and Miss Naney Jane Davis, Came to Birmingham, erossed the old Covered bridge spanning the Juniata, and purchased the Grier site and main building. At his death in 1887, Miss Davis wrote, The busy brain rested, the kindly voice became still, and the hand always extended to the help of others lay motionless over the heart of him whose life had been given to the work he lovedf, 4
