T DEDICATION It gives the 1971 Annual Staff great pleasure to dedicate their annual to the music instructor of Grid- ley High, Mr. Peter R. Zwall. Pete , as he is known to his friends, has accom- plished much in his two years at Gridley. He has sponsored the 1971 senior class as both juniors and seniors. He takes the marching band to numerous parades, performs with his glee clubs for many public functions, takes groups to state contests, works with the triple trio, gives private piano lessons, and con- ducts the Community Christmas Cantata. Mr. Zwall and his family have also added to the community by building a new home in Gridley. For these contributions, we are grateful and hope Mr. Zwall will stay in Gridley for many years to CO1116. Fourteen class members, and sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. James Ochs, Mr. Lewis Kraft, Mr. Peter Zwall, set out for three days of fun. They arrived at the lodge about 12:00 and were greeted with a welcoming speech. The rest of the day was spent visiting Dogpatch, curio shops, various sports, and dancing. Each night the lodge sponsored a dance, and a weiner roast which was enjoyed by all. On May 13, the day was spent swimming, touring shops and various places, and playing miniature golf. After dinner that evening, the class departed for a trip on an excursion boat, the 4'Larry Donf, The excursion lasted two hours. The group enjoyed dancing to a live band. On May 14, the seniors visited the Arrowpoint cave. After the tour through the cave, several of the members of the class visited an aquarium. The afternoon was spent sun- bathing, swimming, boating, airplane cruising and shopping. In the evening, all went to Lee Maceis Ozark Opry. On May 15, the bus departed for home at 9:30 a.m. All the seniors left the lodge with mixed feelings. It was a hap- py time, and it will always be a wonderful memory of our high school days.
