October lh, 1956 The Gridley Chapter of the Future Farmers of America sent their officers to the National F.F.A. Convention at Kansas City. November 28, 1956 All the F.F.A. members went to the International Livestock Exposition at Chicago, Illinois. December 15, 1956 The F.F.A. joined the F.H.A. and G.A.A. in promoting the Miss Snowflake dance. February 13, 1957 We entertained the Lexington F,F.A, Chapter with a basketball game. April 2, 1957 Merle Gerig represented us at the Public Speaking contest at Octavia. April 9, 1957 Clarence Houck, Glenn Jenkins, Harold Kaupp, Herb Husseman, and Clarence Ropp judged dairy cattle at Pontiac, Illinois. April 16, 1957 We entertained our parents and friends at our annual pot-luck supper. May B, 1957 Don Funk. The club held 1ts regular monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month. One of the actlvities the group enjoyed, for several mont was bowling in E1 Paso on Monday evenings after school. At our February meeting all girls who had twenty-four points were 1nit1ated. They each recelved a G. A. A. p1n. Mrs. Diana Miller as- sisted 1n initiatmg the girls. Future Homemakers of America arolyn Rinkenberger Karen Siebenthal Beverly Meiss This year our meetings were held on the second Tuesday of each month. Officers for the year were Pat McCullough, president, Beverly Meiss, vice presi- dent, Pamona Finck, secxetaryg Karen Witzig, treasurer Mrs. Wisthuff was our sponsor. On October 15, a hayrack ride was held. There were refreshments and a record dance afterword. On december 15, the Snowflake Dance was held. Carolyn Rinkenberger was Miss Snowflake. Money making projects included bake sales, hobo week, car washes, and selling knives. On February Lg, the new members were initiated. The new members were Alice Kingdom, Patsy Kingdon, Judy Pu.nke, Marilyn Rathbun, Karen Siebenthal, Marge Stalter, Carol Steward, Annette Sutter, and Sharon Meiss. 'I'he trip to Chicago is being planned for April 22. We know everyone will enjoy it. 25
