On the day of the celebra- tion rain came down in torrents. The badly spoiled and very fickle Queen caught a terrible cold, but was brave enough to go on anyway. The beauty who was to have been on the float got Wcold feetn so the younger daughter took her place, and upon seeing her in the costume the football hero fell in love with her. The old maid schoolteacher became engaged to a very rough and uncouth westerner. Miss Garrity directed the play. -25-

Hoobler, V Reeves and G Kahle The Future Farmers of America is a national organization of farm boys en rolled in vocational agriculture In 1937 the Gridley chapter of Future Farmers of America was organized by Mr Paul McKey, the present sponsor During the past year our F F A members participated in a variety of in teresting and enjoyable activities, namely, Judging contest, basket ball tourna m nts, F. F. A. jamborees, and the vocational agriculture fair At the voca tional fair held at LeRo fifteen of our boys exhibited their progects and brought home a total of l25 in prize money Our Judging teams have ranked ac creditably in the districts and state contests We have also attended the International Livestock Show the past two years From forty one progects we made a net profit of 32,540 last year One of our boys, Lawrence Gilmore, first prize with his grand champion barrow at the County Fair this year third at the State Fair officers of the club this year are Bob Reeves--President Max Kirkton--Vice President Arthur Gramm--Sec. and Treas Keith Hoobler--Reporter Mr. McKey--Advisor Motto is: NLearning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to live, Living to serve.W CO1OI'S HTS blue and
