lvfR. VAUGHN This has been a year of growth at Gridley High School in many ways. First, our enrollment is the largest in the history of the school. Our facilities have expanded and we have a larger staff than we have had in the past. This type of growth is of interest, but it is not the type that is our principal interest. It is not nearly so important as the growth and de- velopment of our students. The growth of our students is evidenced in many walyst their intellectual and academic growth, as every student spends a greater part of his school day working toward this goaL The student's physical growth is another area in which the school plays an important part. Both boys and girls spend part of their day in improv- ing their bodies and their co-ordination for healthful living and recre- ation. We are also interested in the aesthetic growth of our students: art, music, speech arts, and similar classes aid in their growth, The students' social growth is another area that has captured our interest. We have many club meetings, dances, assemblies, etc., that help our students grow in this direction. This is just a partial list of the growth of students' experience. It is my hope that our students will progress in all areas so that in their adult lives they will be happy and useful citizens. Principal's Message
