Gustafson Mrs. Rose Glasheen SCHOOL BOARD Responsibility for assuring Gresham High students of the best possible education within the scope of the school budget lies with the Board of Directors. Decisions regarding em- ployees, building improvement, curriculum, and general policy also are made by the Board with the aid of the ad- ministration. The Gresham High School Board consists of five mem- bers who are elected by voters of five different areas which comprise the union high school district. Elmer E. Settergren of Orient replaced Vic Sipe this year as chairman of the Board. William W. Bill Masten of Lynch District No. 28, Harvey L. Snyder of Powell Valley District No. 26, Earl F. Vincent of Gresham, and Alvin W. Gustafson of Damascus Union District No. 26 served as directors this year. These men, along with school clerk, Mrs. Rose Glasheen, deserve much credit for an important service rendered well for the school and community. HARRY THOMPSON Superintendent Harry Thompson has completed his first year at the mammoth task of being adminis- trator of Gresham Union High School. Moving up from his former job of athletic director and dean of boys, Mt. Thompson took the helm of Gresham High with 10 years of teaching experience behind him. He deals skillfully with the problems of public relations, crowded conditions, complicated class sched- ules, student complaints and faculty assignments. Under his guidance the student council has grown in responsibility and leadership. FRANK BARTHOLOMEW Assistant Superintendent Frank Bartholomew han- dles many of the unpleasant but necessary details of administration. He checks attendance, toutes and schedules the busses, supervises the cafeteria service, and takes care of a host of disciplinary details. For these jobs which have so great a responsibility and so little reward, Bart deserves the thanks of all- even the victims of his vigilance.
