The outstanding activity of the year was a Leap Year Valentine party held January 30, l948. Pat McCullough and Bob Rounsefell were chosen king and queen of hearts. JANET AMBROSE NG Secretary DU mouse ww Vfc:ALE WOLFE OO President ' resident ' FRESHMAN CLASS The Freshmen entered the portals of G.U.H.S. with the distinction of being the largest class ever to enroll. After surviving initiation by the upper classmen, they elected their class officers: Douglas lrving, president, Duane Wolfe, vice-president, Janet Ambrose, secretary, Tommy Bird, sergeant-at-arms, Cheryl Bjur, girl council member, Shirly Johnson, Girls' League representative. The first activity of the year was the traditional cleaning of the trophy case. During the course of the year, President Douglas Irving was presented the District Basketball Tournament trophy by Bob Bernick. With the able assistance of Miss Stoeber, class advisor, the freshman party, The Carnival, was a huge success. The freshman class has been well represented in the various sports and on the honor role. NANCY STOEBER Advisor
