The 1972 Gopher Grenora High School Grenora, North Dakota Advisor: Mr. Bruce Anderson Editor: Blanche Ledahl Assistant Editor: Mary Beth Longtin Copy Editor: Laurie Gunlikson Photographer: Wayne Hoff Business Manager: Sharyn Johnson 1 In Memoriam Marilyn and Andrew Bud Oyen God, In His Mercy God, in His mercy, has laid out a plan, Has guided their souls to a brighter land, Has stopped the pain of this earthly life, And taken them Home, where there is no strife, Has given them rest in a beautiful place, Where they will see Jesus, face to face. Ah! Yes. We shall miss them, their wit and their smile; Sincere and honest, they used no guile. Loved by so many, they loved them back, God in His mercy has taken Marilyn and Bud back. In this manner do we dispose of our possessions: Kathy Bagaason wills all her many phone calls and letters from Dickenson to all the lonely hearts of Grenora. Duane Dordahl wills his ability to grow a quick beard to Tessy who’s been working on a mustache for some time. Greg Garaas wills his three wheeler to Clarence Johnson to make his way around here a little faster. Lee Garaas leaves his electronical abilities to Spark. James Geltel wills his ungentlemanly manners, dry jokes, and wierd sense of humor to Pat Jacobson who never seems to think of anything to say. Laurie Gunlikson wills her athletic abilities to next years basketball team. May they make good use of them. Orla Gunlikson wills her colorful wardrobe to Chris Hendrickson who seems to prefer the basics. Joan Hanson wills her friendly ways to Alice Running - the crabbiest girl around. Marlin Hanson wills his ability to sleep through classes to Rodney Sveet who's always so interested in the class discussions. Linda Johnson wills her spelling abilities to Luke Jacobson. Sharyn Johnson wills her personality to Joyce Sorenson who could make good use of it. LaRene Knudsvig wills her cheerful and smily ways to Sherry Haug - who doesn't seem to be enjoying life at all. Ricky Kueffler wills his ability to make the bars to Duane Skabo - who's gonna need a darn good ID. Barb LaFond wills her artistic ability to Dee Ann Dordahl - next years paper staff artist. Ron Laqua wills his interest in English to anyone who considers it a bore. Vince Laqua wills his little place out in the country to n xt years Seniors for their outings. Blanche Ledahl wills her weekends in Ray to Cindy Rude who's always looking for someone or something new. Joni Peterson wills her freckles to Kay Iverson. I'm sure she'll be overjoyed to have them. Robert Rassier wills his sex appeal, charm, and exuberant looks to Jim Bratlien. Doug Schaan wills his hours of basketball practice to Randy Hought to make up for the hours he skipped. Connie Sneva wills her job at the lumber yard to Pam Jacobson who just can't seem to hold a job. Geri Stewart wills all her trips to Crosby to Karen and Donna who are already getting a good start. Doris Ann Thome wills her typing ability to next years typing class. They may really need it. Asa class we will all the time we've spent in the classroom to Chris Hendrickson who never stays in class, and to Susie Schroeder, who roams the halls all day. To Mr. Ulland we leave our found identities: because we have discovered - You're O.K. and We’re O.K. To Mr. Smith we will a pair of track shoes so he may keep up with all the kids that roam the hall all day. To Mr. Sortland we will the high standards we have set in his study halls so he will know how to run them in coming years. To Mrs. Graupe we will our accumulated libraries at home to rebuild the schools collection. To Mr. Tessmer we will all our friendly smiles so he may return a few of them in coming years. We will 82 2 to Mr. Rehn to go in a fund for new maps for geography class. To Mr. Dignan we leave a can of lysol spray to sweeten up his room. Asa class we will all our athletic abilities to Mr. Anderson for his basketball team next year. We realize what a great loss you will suffer. To Mr. Smart we will our sarcastic remarks and a pair of orthopedic gloves so your baton can be a baton instead of a flying arrow. We will all our democratic ways to Mrs. Smith so she doesn’t have to worry about making the next days assignments by herself. We will all our loose change to Mr. Hagen. He has a whole year left to pass out tens. To Mr. Grenz we will all our thanks and appreciation for all the help and guidance you've shown us as a teacher and as a friend. Asa class we will our youth to the grade teachers. To the juniors we will the honor of ruling the roost which you've already tried for one year. To the Sophomores we will all our artistic talent so your prom can be as successful as ours. To the freshmen we leave all our patiences so you can put up with all the upperclass- men. To the cooks we leave all the Spanish Rice we took so we wouldn't get it as leftovers. To the janitors we would leave our ambition if we had any left to leave. Last but not least to our parents we will them our ability to cope through life when we're not there to help them along.
