M---+0--W-------Q-U he Bran- rt -Q---M--Q--M--0 DRAMATIC CLUB Coached by PROF. PALMER The Dramatic Club presented Are You a Mason, on the high school gym Jan. 10. The cast consisted of Richard Ellis, Frederick Kelly, Iliff Grass, Byron Jordan, Frank Fisher, Carl Dunn, Gertrude Medema, Hazel Martin, Virginia Cox, Dorothy Howell and Martha Stephenson. The play was a three-act comedy, and concerned the two men-, husband and father-in-law, who tried to use Lodge Meeting as an excuse for going out. Frederick Kelly as Mr. Bloodgood was excel- lent, and was well supported by Martha Stephenson as his wife. Ger- trude Medema and Iliff Grass as Mr. and Mrs. Perry did some very good acting. while Dorothy Howell and Byron Jordan, and Hazel Martin and Frank Fisher evinced the love-interest of the play. Rich- ard Ellis as Mr. Travers, portrayed the part of a former actor very thoroughly, as did Virginia Cox as the typical Irish Maid. --OPERETTA- Love Pirates of Hawaii was the thlird of the three successful operettas produced by G. H. S. Glee Clubs under the supervision ot' Miss Little. Dorothy Howell, Gertrude Medema, Byron Jordon and Frederick Kelly had the leading parts, and Martha Tinkle, Martha Stephenson, Doris Fendley and Hazel Martin did special song-work in the chorus. The operetta was presented to a full house, and cleared a neat sum. -JUNIOR AND SENIOR CLASS PLAY - On May 15, the Patsy was presented to a full house in the high school gym. The play was coached by Hamilton Clarke, former resi- dent of Greenwood, now student at Butler and member of the Little Theatre group. Elizabeth Brewer, '30, took the leading part, Pat- sy, and carried it off in excellent style. Dorothy Howell. '29, played the part of Patsy's sister, Grace, quite well. and Elizabeth Myers did justice to her role as the mother. Mary R. Edringon was Sadie. Forest Fendley displayed quite a bit of talent as Pop, as did Penny Jordan as Billy Caldwell. The rest of the oast, all Seniors, were Julian Wiley as a taxi driv- er, Junior Jordan as Tony, and Russell Lasiter as O'Flarity. All three did quite well, and as a whole, the entire cast deserves praise.
