. .lg 1 1 v ,ii I TH SCIENCE CLUB The Greenwood Science Club was organized in December, 1948. It is composed of members of the General Science and Biology classes. The members selected the following officers: President ----------- Gwen Garrett Vice President ---------- Joy Rich Sec.-Treas. ---- Jacqueline Butler Sponsor ------------ Elsie Moreland The club was organized to create a more active interest in the affairs of science. Their motto, 'Scientific minds bring successful futures,' carries this aim out very effectively. The club song, 'Honeysuckle Rose' and the club flower 'Wild Honey- suckle' fit in very nicely with the study of science. As class projects, with the cooperation of their sponsor, Mrs. Elsie Moreland, the club members have made: posters concern- ing different phases of biology, notebooks illustrating the study of birds and living things, and notebooks about the physical world in which we live. THE ENGLISH C IUB The Greenwood English Club their goals: l. Development 2. Development language. 3. Development discussion, was organized in 1945. These are of of clear and definite thought. effective oral and written of skill in conversation, parliamentary procedure, reading, speaking and story telling. 4. Appreciation of good literature. 5. Development of helpful and respectful atti- tude toward others.
