Whew! let's rest a while! Here's the Upsweep Curl Shop. Let's gc in and have a manicure and a shampoo while we talk to the two proprietresses, Rita and Betty Williams. Betty has been married five years to a promising young attorney. Now, we're on our way home and passing the new First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. we notice on the neon sign that the pas- tor is the one and only Carl Crenshaw, Jr., our friend back in '49. He and his lovely young wife live in the elaborate parscnage on Oak Cliff Drive. let's go on down to Houston and take a cruise. My, my, what a beautiful luxury Liner!! What!!!! Did you say the captain is Lamar Garland?? Now that we are back in Shreveport, let's go have our pictures made and see how we look after a long journey, and of course we'll have to gc to Gwen Bradford and Bessie 0den's studio to have them made! I hear they take very nice pictures and such a beautiful finish!! You've never seen anything like it. I just read in the Shreveport Times Newspaper that Nettie Lafitte is now a model in Paris, France. And did you know that Richard Hammett is now the owner of the Shreveport Times??? Well, he started out young for such e position as that!! An old friend of Marie Witvliet told me she had gone to Holland several years ago to visit her relatives and didn't come back!! She is happily married to a dairyman there in Holland. Maybe she will come back soon to visit us!! I can't leave you all without mentioning Martha Grace McCluney! She's the sweet little brunette that used to talk all the time in our English class! Remember?? She is now composing her words into books, as she is one of the most famous novel writers!!! It has been a pleasure taking this journey with such dear old friends that I will never forget. Maybe it won't be too long before we meet again! Goodbye and Good Luck to all my old school acquaintances!!! Very sincerely yours, Betty V. Brooks
