The Greenwood cindermen started the season right by tale ing their lirst meet hy a 6751 score. ln winning over Brook- land-Cayee the Emeralds ran first in seven ol' fourteen events, second in ten events, and third in four races. ln their contest with Parker the Emeralds came out on top hy a 65V2f57W score and outran Columbia High 78 45. The 1957 team lost only to Greenville and Anderson. The Emeralds placed second at the Upper State Meet held at Clemson and third at the State Meet held in Columbia. The medley relay team composed ol Bradley Fowler, vlolinny Vllhite, Tommy Nieldes and Charles Douglass established the first state record for this new event.
