CLASS HISTORY Of the original thirty-three starry-eyed Kindergarteners who greeted Miss Younglove in 1952, ten remain. They are: Larry Dieterman, Susan Edwards, Shirley Herrick, Suzanne Ker- nan, Gary Krusen, Jayne Krusen, Reed Lowrey, Beverly Quinn, Judy Whitsell, and Jack York. The next six years were filled with such memorable occ- asions as daily milk and cookie breaks, the second grade post office, festive Halloween and Christmas parties, the operettas HPeter Pann and HLittle Black Sambou, and the normal heart- breaks, spills, and interruptions of grade school. Over the years, six other students joined the ranks of the Class of '65 to give a grand total of sixteen. They are: Sharon Hunt, Barbara Lewis, and William Meehan, Second Grade, George McCaffery, Sixth Grade, Irene Sky, Ninth Grade, and Gary Vanderhoef, Tenth Grade. In 1961, under the direction of Mr. Bangs, the Freshman Class had such fund raising affairs as the HDoc Williams Shown, stationery sales, and tree planting. Some problems were in- volved, but they were all dug up in the end! Class rings were ordered during the Sophomore year, with Mr. Bangs still riding herd over the group. This year was one of great fun and frolic with pizza parties and volleyball games. Mr. Bangs created a depression, by leaving, as the year ended. As Juniors, under the watchful eye of Mr. Tubbs, the Junior-Senior Banquet, Junior-Senior Prom, School Board Bane quet, and candy sales all went smoothly. The arrival of DSW class rings brought great joy, but every heart was sad- dened by the death of a friend and classmate, Cheryl Warriner. Finally in the fall of 1964, the Seniors sold magazines, assembled the yearbook, and planned enthusiastically for the trip to Washington, D, C. The class has great expectations of such forthcoming events as the Junior-Senior Prom, Bacca- laruate, and especially, Graduation. As the years at G. C. S. draw to a close, the Seniors look back upon some of the greatest moments of their lives, only to realize that the future holds many, many more. We hope all future Seniors can have as many, if not more. These are wonderful memories to be cherished throughout a lifetime. Best wishes to those who follow, and remember the Class of 1965.
