1 4 v 1 K 1-f.-- v-4 r 5 TRIPLE TERRACE Presented to GRLLNWOOD CENTRAL SCHOOL GREENWOOD, NEW YORK BY w THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1965 R ..lV5flll7Vll7U7l7' Mr. Bangs, It is with the utmost of pride that we dedicate our yearbook to you. Throughout our high school years, we have continually felt your presence as a part of our class, in spite of your year-long absence from G. C. S. As Freshmen, your warm personality and friendliness did much to shape our all-important first opinions of high school and teachers. Now, from across the hall, you are again largely re sponsible for helping to shape our future. For this and many other reasons, we wish to thank you from the bottom our hearts. It is our wish that other high school stu- dents find the sort of companionship which you showed to us and which we found so valuable. Sincerely, The Class of 1965 f vm t, 399 figg How very unreal it is to see ourselves as Seniors. We have planned so long for this year. Yet, we find there is one bright-eyed, smiling face missing. For nearly twelve years, we shared our joys and tears, our happiness and our disappoint ments with this smile and the girl behind it, and then suddenl she was taken from us. It would be so very difficult to use a few, short words to tell of our memories. We remember Cheryl as a lively, hard working, responsible person who withheld her friendship from no one. With her became the center to our class when work to be done. loafer to compete flashing smile and pleasant personality, she nucleus of our class. She was invaluable there were decorations to be made, or other She was always encouraging some Uwould-ben with her for higher scholastic marks. We are very thankful to have had Cheryl's company for most of our school years at Greenwood Central. She proved again and again that she was a loyal companion, a wonderful classmate, and we are honored to have known her as a friend. v ,X l ,b J xx rw ! You should be proud of your achieve- ment and rightfully so, for it is something you have earned. Ahead will be other graduations--not necessarily from a school--but from one position to another, from single to married life, from neophyte to experienced workmen, from youth to old age. And can we help but wonder in what kind of a world this will take place? You will find, I am sure, that you will need all the training you can get regardless of your chosen work and, because of our continually and rapidly changing technology, many of you may be faced with the necessity of more advanced training and, in some cases retraining for another field. To the degree you find this a challenge and upon the extent you are willing to use your energy and talents, and enjoy living, rests your future graduations and successes May they all be great! The future is limited only by ourselves. The simplest way to better your lot is to do a lot better. Best wishes. Sincerely, Q1- BOARD OF EDUCA TION SEATED: Virginia Hunt. WILLIAM FRANCIS MEEHAN BEVERLY MARIE QUINN naw-..N IRENE SKY GARY LEROY VANDERHOEF -'www 5 kann JUDY ANITA WHITSELL JACK RICHARD YORK CLASS HISTORY Of the original thirty-three starry-eyed Kindergarteners who greeted Miss Younglove in 1952, ten remain. They are: Larry Dieterman, Susan Edwards, Shirley Herrick, Suzanne Ker- nan, Gary Krusen, Jayne Krusen, Reed Lowrey, Beverly Quinn, Judy Whitsell, and Jack York. The next six years were filled with such memorable occ- asions as daily milk and cookie breaks, the second grade post office, festive Halloween and Christmas parties, the operettas HPeter Pann and HLittle Black Sambou, and the normal heart- breaks, spills, and interruptions of grade school. Over the years, six other students joined the ranks of the Class of '65 to give a grand total of sixteen. They are: Sharon Hunt, Barbara Lewis, and William Meehan, Second Grade, George McCaffery, Sixth Grade, Irene Sky, Ninth Grade, and Gary Vanderhoef, Tenth Grade. In 1961, under the direction of Mr. Bangs, the Freshman Class had such fund raising affairs as the HDoc Williams Shown, stationery sales, and tree planting. Some problems were in- volved, but they were all dug up in the end! Class rings were ordered during the Sophomore year, with Mr. Bangs still riding herd over the group. This year was one of great fun and frolic with pizza parties and volleyball games. Mr. Bangs created a depression, by leaving, as the year ended. As Juniors, under the watchful eye of Mr. Tubbs, the Junior-Senior Banquet, Junior-Senior Prom, School Board Bane quet, and candy sales all went smoothly. The arrival of DSW class rings brought great joy, but every heart was sad- dened by the death of a friend and classmate, Cheryl Warriner. Finally in the fall of 1964, the Seniors sold magazines, assembled the yearbook, and planned enthusiastically for the trip to Washington, D, C. The class has great expectations of such forthcoming events as the Junior-Senior Prom, Bacca- laruate, and especially, Graduation. As the years at G. C. S. draw to a close, the Seniors look back upon some of the greatest moments of their lives, only to realize that the future holds many, many more. We hope all future Seniors can have as many, if not more. These are wonderful memories to be cherished throughout a lifetime. Best wishes to those who follow, and remember the Class of 1965. CLASS PROPHECY The huge blue and gold marquee above the entrance tells us that we are entering HHunt's Hilarious Housen-owned and operated by Sharon Hunt, a 1965 graduate of our Alma Mater, Greenwood Centralfmwwwm The first familiar face we see is that of George Tubbs. Mr. Tubbs resigned as head of the Tubbs Solar Research Eabor- atories in order to join his former pupils. Today, Mr. Tubbs is the only human being who can light up like a bulb by will- ing his mind to do so. we hope he doesn't blow a fuse! As our search begins, who should we see but Judy Whitsell, who invites us in a booming voice to visit the tent contaihing some of the most gruesome monsters on earth. Inside, we find the one and only Jack York. We should have known, since Jack always envied GodzilIaTMn3ack's companion proves to be our friend and fellow sufferer, Larry Dieterman. Larry actually doesn't belong here, as he is a snake-charmer by profession, but he stored his snakes in a pizza box and accidentally ate them. Today, he is keeping Jack amused. A young lady catches our eye as she races madly about. Astonished, we find that this is our own Irene Sky, who was asked to take Susan Edwards' place as the Human Cannonball. After all thesewyears, Susan forgot to show up for her perfor- mance. Irene's usual job is selling mCandied Apples.H On our left, we see the sleek, musclebound lady-killer who is actually Reed Lowrey. Those summers at the lake cer- tainly did wonders for Him, but he takes his job too serious- ly! Shirley Herrick makes the prettiest little fat lady you'd ever wish to see. She's such a HPeachH and the children love her. Under the big top, the well-known aerialist, Jayne Krusen, awaits the ascent of her brave partner, Gary Krusen. Hean- while, Gary is trying desperately to reach the rope which he must climb. Behind him, Lewis and Quinn, the death-defying auto-drivers rev up their'EEgTbes. Barb and Bev always were destined to make the headlines. Nearby-George McCaffery and Bill Meehan are preparing to crash into each other d5'their motorcycles. These boys are well-known for their ability to emerge with only a few scratches. ' After the shcw we see Gary Vanderhoef, who is leading his trained tigers. Gary has started a new fad by putting tiger wh kers on small cars. They tickle pedestrians to death! Upon passing the first aid station, we find our own Suzanne Kernan in charge. Suzie is well qualified for this job, as she HaE'EEven wild injuns of her own at home. Regretfully, we must leave, and as we do so, we see Sharon Q Hunt waiting to thank us for visiting her group. As 'good- byesn are said,we hope that soon we will get another glimpse of the only Three Ring Circus to graduate from G.C.S. is fx 5 X' 'fs kg -'mfg' if XL. 59' 'S 'if Ami?
