To the faculty, we leave our thanks for their effort in making this important era of our lives a successful adventure. To the Juniors, Leon McNeill leaves ten pounds of good healthy books and his hope for a Senior Homeroom for them next year. To Gail Doxtater, Paddy Shirley wills her ability to say the wrong things at the wrong time. To ,Ioan Holt, Doris Banks and Betty Coates leave their ability to be on time for school the day after. Janet Lamphier wishes to give to Catherine Grumley her perfect attendance record. To Marlene Waters, Beatrice Freeland bequeaths her bashfulness. Suzanne Hyland leaves to Louise Lounsberry her treasured ability to do what comes naturally. Raymond Doty passes on to John Kernan his ability to get along with Mr. Redmond. I Alyce Reimann leaves to Veronica Smith her ability to play basketball. Nina Saunders gives to Evelyn Drake her ability to get along with the teachers. CLASS HISTUHY Twelve years ago, we, from different parts of Greenwood, started up the Golden Stairs of Education, and now we have reached the top. In the class we started with we find five of the present fourteen seniors. They were Beatrice Freeland, Suzanne Hyland, Paddy Shirley, ,Ianet Lamphier and Emmett Ersley. Doris Banks joined us in our fifth year. The year went by and we went back to school and found Alyce Reimann, Nina Saunders, Leon McNeill and Albert Faulkner. Our class was getting larger each year. Our seventh year we were in junior High School moving about with the High School. That year we found Eugertha Houghtaling from Rexville. ' In our ninth year the chief thought was' when and how to acquire enough money to finance our trip to Washington and our first venture was a Pie Plant Pete and Harmonica joe program. We tumed most of the money over to help buy an electric score board for our gymnasium. Raymond Doty joined us. Nothing much exciting happened in our Sophomore year except ordering our class rings and picking our class color, green and white, flower, red and white roses and our motto, There is no knowledge that is not power . Albert Faulkner left us and the year had passed. Our third year high school class assembled with brand new class rings and we had another new member, Betty Coates, from Knoxville, Pennsylvania and Albert Faulkner had retumed. We presented our first play, Danger, Willie at Work . We had the Junior and Senior Banquet. As seniors we began the twelfth and final year of our scholastic career in September of 1950. Hans Plmdt from Germany became the fourteenth and last member of the class. We organized in September and chose as President, Leon McNeillg Vice-President, Emmett Ersleyg Treasurer, Nina Saunders, Social Chair- man, Suzanne Hyland and Secretary, Janet Lamphier. Mr. Love was entrusted with the task of advising. We had a play November 17th, ln Again, Out Again . We held a spaghetti supper December 7th and a Chirstmas Dance December 21st. During our four years of high school many came and left us. They were: Joyce Cummings, Rachel Wing, Anna Guild, Robert Bailey, Robert Mills, ,lean Hovey, Vera Heckman and Billie Lemmon. We hope that this brief history may be kept for at least a short time in our memories. Although we hate to leave our classmates, we will always cherish the memory of them and happy times at Greenwood Central School. 12
