But never stop growing! l Perhaps there should be a point in our working lives where wd feel our contributions have been such tha we are entitled to take it easy from that point on. Maybe there should be, but I doubt if it happens very often before retirement. The minute you start t relax on the oars, you begin to lose your value. Someone else, with more drive and ambition, could step i and do a better job in your place. , l Let's face it - what you accomplished yesterday is water over the dam. More important now is what yo can do today and tomorrow. When the things you did yester ay and last year are more important tha your ambitions for tomorrow and next year, it's time to let omeone else take over. This may seem like a hard, unfeeling way to look at things - but isn't it the truth? No success in final l One of the tragedies of the working world is the number of people, at all levels, who have mentally retired. They are resting on their laurels - just along for the rikle. They aren't looking for new challenge not interested in doing things better. 5 no success can last forever. 1 Like anyone who coasts, there's only one place for them to gol - downhill. Keep alive, keep challengin yourselves until the day you quit. When growth stops, decayl begins. 4 Good luck as you continue growing toward your life's ambitibns. Class officers were Glenda White, president, Jim Douglas, vice- resident, Pete Birdsinger, secretary, and Mary Beth Davis, treasurer. he survivors moved on to face Mr. Kuba, Miss Killam, Mrs. Lauder and Miss Kirby. Helping us through th grade were our president, Jim Douglas, vice-president, David Woods, secretary, Jennifer Ruddock, and reasurer, Lucina Hughes. ith David Woods, president, Jennifer Ruddock, vice-president, Laura Corey, secretary, and Debbie olley, treasurer, we entered 9th grade High School! First we conquered our magazine drive with Sally chafer, the top money-maker, then on to Mr. Eggleston, Mrs. Degner, Mr. Roods, and Mr. Lomasney!! ther victims of our 9th grade year were Mr. Wells, Mr. Ramsey and Mrs. Roberson, who chose to retire. e truly were superior sophomores! We were really prepared to pull rank on the freshmen. Leading the ttack was Dave Woods, president, Wendy Skellie, vice-president, Laura Corey, secretary, and Debbie olley, treasurer. With Mr. Lomasney at the helm, we began our year by decorating a float for the omecoming Parade. The first two weeks finished Mr. Gross, we moved on to Mr. Porter, Mrs. Austin and her dreaded fetal pigsj, Miss Maloney and Mr. Nolder. A high point of the end of the year was electing our class rings and saying goodbye to Mr.Holmes Cbetter known as Big Tom .J he big Green Machine rolled into the Junior year with David Woods at the throttle. Assisting were endy Skellie, vice-president, Laura Corey, secretary, and Debbie Polley, treasurer. Wallie's was chosen or our ring banquet, with Mrs. Van Driel as guest speaker. This did not discourage our advisors, Miss Troy nd Mrs. Rainer, so we continued on!! We were more interested in our prom than Christmas, and in ecember we were on our way to Stairway to Heaven . Despite 5 months preparation, the last week was ectic! That was when we learned that no one knew how to hang a parachute, but with lots of ooperation from Mr. Ramsey, Mrs. Rainer, and Miss Troy, we did it!! We danced to the music of 'Reflections and chose Laura Corey and Jeff Wilbur as the royal couple. Attendants were Wendy Boyce nd Ken Facing Wendy Skellie and Chris Briglin, Debbie Polley and Chris Degner. After the prom we went o Panza's on Saratoga Lake for dinner. Topping off the evening was a party at Barb Wilkinson's and reakfast at Angela Paul's. ount St. Helen's took a backseat, as we erupted into our Senior year. Our first challenge as seniors was to aint the Senior Lounge. Having recuperated from painting, we then held our annual class picnic at the alem Fish and Game Club. With the help of our advisors, Mrs. Degner and Miss Quenelle, and class fficers, Jeff Wilbur, president, Wendy Skellie, vice-president, Laura Corey, secretary, and Stacey Morri- on, treasurer, our next step was to plan the first Senior-Alumni Dance, which we held to brighten up the reary winter months. fter spending the winter with our usual antics, yearbook deadlines, and basketball practice, our thoughts urned to graduation. With June approaching, the time was coming when we could finally say, School's ut! . Watch out world!! Ted Lawrence joined us in September. He was pre- viously a member of the Warrensburg chapter. We had a car wash at Carmody Ford's to raise money for our trip to the Alpine Slide at Bromley. After much controver- sy, our 25th annual induc- tion ceremony was held on November 21 at 6:30 PM at the Methodist Church. Our guest speakers were Sally Gifford Filion, a member of 1957 charter chapter, and Mr. James Briglin. Reverend Cass Gilbert offered the invoca- tion and benediction. Four seniors and fourteen juniors were inducted, joining the thirteen pre- vious members. After the ceremony, an Italian ban- quet was served to the new inductees, their parents, and guests. When I first came to United States I found myself in the middle of a different life. I tried to fit in with this new kind of life with the help of my family. I have learned a lot about everything. I gained a lot of experiences which will be very useful to me in planning my future life. I was really happy to make friends here. I want to thank all of my friends for their help and friendship. I also want to thank my family. They gave me a lot of love and helped me with all of my problems and showed me how to solve them. I hope to see some of you in the future.
