In a rare moment of excitement, left, Yearbook Advisor Susan Burnett leans back and relaxes class. Her job was to oversee all of the things that the sectio editors did. in n Some people are camera shy, but Tracy Vaughn, sophomore, upper right, expresses himself by emitting a smile. Caught by surprise, low right, unidentified student is caught be the sprinklerfsystem the middle of campus. The maintenance men worked all year on keeping the campus green. EI' in A M.. INTRODUCTION It was a time of Friendship, Good times Friendship was always a part of Greenway's campus, as on any campus. At Greenway friendship isn't just confined to students. Dean of students Wendell Sheets, talks to Tony Rankin, a friend of his, top far left. Dallas Cormier, Dave Weesner, and Barry Zumach, seniors, left, have fun during their lunch hour, by showing very large smiles. Lisa Barton, Sharron Bishop, Debbie Hunter, Mary Holly, and Lisa Gomez, sophomores, bottom far left, meet between classes to discuss tests, lunch and boys. Lunch is also a time for friends to get together. An assorted bunch of students, bottom left, prefer an easy lunch against a building as opposed to a crowded lunchroom. With only five minutes between classes, friends don't have time to talk extensively between classes, so at Greenway, lunch serves as the social time. Ieff Veir, sophomore, left, enjoys the fantastic taste of snack bar hamburgers, and a Gatorade, two of the many things a student can purchase at the snackbar. While Ieff is enjoying his lunch, other students, below, spend most of the half hour alloted for lunch in the snack bar line. At the beginning of the year, the line ex- tended past thesidewalk into the grass. As the year progressed, the line got shorter, but it was long enough to wait a long time. ai 311 at 14-5' warn T ' ,Q . iii . af INTRODUCTION 11 It was a time of Learning and growing Below, Media Center offers read Silent Running. great opportunities in the Top right, while waiting photographic field. Despite a crowded and long schedule, they found time to have fun. Mixing work with play, the juniors made their days more enjoyable for themselves as well as their teachers. Far right, Donna Kellerup and Kathy Arrowood found it quite easy to find their classes at Greenway. They even found time to stop and find out all the new happenings in the five minutes between classes. High School is very much like junior highs in this area. The only big difference is the big crowds of students. The new students found that there were a lot of new adventures and fun times related to Greenway. 150 FRESHMEN ,M .www lf! Special activities included the crowning of the Bicentennial King and Queen, and a first for the Junior, Senior prom. Greenway's first four year class learned quickly how to be patient and to share. To share the sidewalks, the dance floors, and most of all a little of them- selves. Greenway's pride swelled with the new experience of victory - the knowledge that i 2 188 CLOSING ,, .Y Y,,, , unity produces success. What a time it was! The mixed emotions from Greenway's first graduation class filled many. Sorry to leave the memories of yesterday and excited aboutithe challenges facing them tomorrow, were feelings shared by many seniors.
