Here goes: Our freshman year was highlighted by the glorious news of the war ending , We all had a great time celebrating, especially when Ned got in like Flynn with Bubbles Kopkan tthe burgers were really terrif' at that party, by the way!! But the war wasn't the only highlight of that year, getting beat up by upperclassmen, encountering the horrible cafeteria food and going to our first kegger were some of the other highlights! ln our second year at Greenway, our class dropped from 383 from the previous year to 175 prevailing sophomores . And, of course, the main attraction of being a sophomore was that we weren't frosh! You were now entitled to shove freshmen into walls and do all the other atrocities that were put upon you in the year before! You also got a higher class of food for lunch. After that rousing sophomore year, we proceeded on to be juniors . Knowing that we only had a year left 'til we were released from G .S .P ., we pulled all kinds of pranks . Now, in our senior year, our class has diminished from the 23 students present in our junior year, to five students. Obviously, this great loss in the number of students lessened some of the fun, but, on the other hand, it did mean more food for everybody during lunch . The blueberry pie was great! But, even with only 1f77 of our original class, we still mustered up enough school spirit to root along with Bubbles for Ned, who took on all the other schools single handed in sports. Ah, but we must say our last farewells and bid each other ado, and head for that place that we call the rest of our lives! They're not the ones with the lost scared look or the ones with the elegant air. They're the ones that are' stuck in between the freshman and junior class pair. Not on the top or the bottom just in the middle somewhere. Their class outnumbers the dominant one, but the newest has considerably more. Youngest they are not the eldest. So, you say, What are they here for? Well, the high school needs them to keep each day from becoming a bore. They add quite a bit to the dim school year. They brighten it every day. They study biology and buy their class rings, but most of all they keep JV teams in play. Could you ask this class to add more to the activities here at Greenway? Unfortunately, though, for the class of '77 their suffering as middlemen isn't done. Because of the coming of seniors, juniors they'll remain Cexcuse the punb. At least they'll dominate two other classes-that is if they aren't overrun. 'T' 51153 Lost in the growing shuffle was the theme of this year's Demonian, because as the number of students in- creased, so did the problems of maintaining individuality. There were masses of students crowding into their classes daily, yet a new student always got help from others in finding the way to his classes. Individuality is great as long as it doesn't turn into loneliness. Still, at the end of the year, there were a few lonely people, who walked alone, ate lunch alone and avoided extracurricular activities. It is our hope that as Greenway grows, the lonely people will become more involved on cam pus and others will help by reaching out a helping hand. As editor of this years Demonian, I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Peggy Gregory, yearbook adviser, for helping us through the year, lVlr. Rob Nlelnick, photo adviser, and his photographers for taking and developing our pictures, Nlr. Chuck Bursell, yearbook representative, for helping us everytime we had problems, the office staff, for our information, and all the members of the Demonian staff and all the time they put into this book. ..-'Y Theme ...... . .
