PGPULHRITY iw rv WINNERS I-38 I In a popularity contest sponsored by the Annual Staff, Violet DeNucci and Perry Pedersen came off with first honors, namely, the titles of Most Popular Girl, and Most Popular Boy. Miss DeNucci maintained a high scholarship average throughout the year, and Mr. Pedersen was a class officer, and was one of the five reasons why Itasca had a good basketball year. Close behind were Tanny Hopfinger and Gerry Faricy, taking second and third places, respectively. Tanny, a de- bater of the highest rank, was also a class officer, had mem- bership in various social clubs, and was in the college play, while Gerry, our editor-in-chief, was one of the charter members of the newly organized W. A. A., and also in the college play. Al Sandberg, who finished second in the Most Popular Boy contest, will be remembered as an all around good sport, and active in social clubs. Judo Predovich, third, earned positions on both the All Conference Basketball and Foot- ball teams, this, his first year, in college. Everyone who purchased an Annual was entitled to ten thousand votes, and had the privilege of dividing their votes between a girl and a boy, or using the whole amount for one person. The contest was used to stimulate interest in the sale of annuals, and at the same time to find out who were considered representative of the student body as a whole.
