Nat cannot enter into Heaven unless Nancy proves that he is innocent of a charge of treason. Parker Burnett, Nancy's fiance, wants to put Nancy in an institution when she keeps insisting she has seen a ghost. Charley Stewart, on the other hand believes Nancy. This prompts-her to turn her affections to Charley. In the end Nancy ac- cidentally proves that Nat is innocent of treason so he is allowed to go to Heaven. Parker is haunted by Natls ghostly friends while the curtain falls on the embracing Nancy and Charley. A conflict between Gene Garrison and his father is seen in the first act when Gene meets his parents at the train station. Margaret and Tom Garrison have just ar- rived home from a vacation which was taken for their health. Unfortunately, the vacation does not restore Mrs. Garrison's health. She dies soon after her retum. The daughter, Alice, arrives home after her mother's death. Alice's homecoming creates tension because her father banished her from the family for marrying a Jew. This banishment is an example of Tom Garrison's un- reasonableness which causes a disagreement between Gene and Alice. Alice tells Gene he no longer has to be the dutiful son. Finally, Gene realizes the truth. The more he tries to be patient with his father, the more his father rejects him. Tom's conduct triggers an argument. Disgusted, Gene moves to California. The relationship between Gene and his father is never reconciled. Time: now -T .1. . , v Wanna lake me home, Mom? CLASS PROJECTS Sell a Mile of Candy was the theme of the Junior Class candy sale. The team captains were: Deb Bresnan, Lynn Leonard, Roger Thompson, Heather Mit- chell, Vicki Rankin, Dale Smith, Dori Kosanovich, Jim Galus, Kathy Straub, and Janet Pearce. Janet Pearce's team, Bee Gees, was the top sales team and the top salesmen were: Debbie Larimer, Janet Pearce, Deb Bresnan, Toni Cianci, John Williams, Mary Sue Peters, Roger Thompson, Jane Davis, Dick Saylor, and John Davis. The money helped to finance the Senior Class Banquet and the Troian. 14 -fi '- UZ The J uggler 'THIS IS OUR WORLD . . HOMECONHNG 1971 SEPTENIBER . . . September first is first day . . . The team lost a heartbreaker to Reynolds, 27-28, on the home course, but came back to defeat the Raiders 25- 30 on the Reynolds course. The other two wins were over Jamestown, I8-37, and over Cochranton, 24-31. Tim Brown came within 12 seconds of the school record on the home course, and beat Denny Fe1l's time last year on the Rey- nolds course by 5 seconds this year. Tim Brown, Tim Butler, Jon McGonigal, Jerry Seiple, Don Manes, and Don Baskin went to Districts. Out of a field of 84 runners, Tim Brown placed 18th, Tim Butler came in 33rd, and Jerry Seiple finished 36th. For all their hard work, both the team and Coach Kokoski deserve con- gratulations, and good luck next year. After 3 weeks of sprints, drills, and agilities, these 40 people took to the field as the 1971 version of the Greenville Senior High School football team. 1 The opener was at home with Meadville. After re- ceiving the second half kickoff, we controlled the ball for theentirethird, andpartofthefourthquarters.Inthattime, we scored 16 points before Meadville received the ball again. Traveling to the Hickory Dust Bowl, we scored our second victory of the season. Warren's game was at home and was a hard fought defeat. The next two games were victories for us. We regained our pride at home against Sharpsville and then stomped Grove City away. The Fort Le Boeuf game was so lop-sided, that first-string men were forced to sit on the bench and settle for drinking coke the entire fourth quarter. But the Oil City game was a hard one to lose. All we can do is watch the films, grit our teeth, and thank the ref? The last two games split as we won over Titusville and lost to Reynolds. The Little Trojans had for the third time completed an undefeated season and extended their winning streak to 24 games. They consistently defeated their foes by large margins. They had only one close game, an 8-0 victory over Grove City. Their stingy defense gave up only 28 points while their potent offense scored 250 points. Congratulations to the JV coaches and players on another unde- feated season. That is the best word to describe the 1971-1972 wrestling squad. With the 14-0 record the team was the undisputed county and section champion. Led by 5 seniors, 3 of which were undefeated, the varsity squad had representatives from every class. The 3 boys with perfect slates were Mike McGoniga1, 133g Bill Shimshock, 1453 and Doug Weaver, 154. The sweet point of the year came on January 11 with a stomping of Reynolds. Greenville was the first team in 5 years to defeat the powerhouse. More than once Greenville has ended with a 13-1 record because of Reynolds, but the table was tumed this year. The team of 71-72 will go down in the books as one of the best teams in GHS history. f we RECORD GHS OPP 48 Franklin 12 48 Grove City 8 47 Commodore Perry 3 48 Sharpsville 9 30 Reynolds 15 32 Meadville 17 51 Mercer 6 44 Titusville 8 60 West Middlesex 3 41 Hickory 11 27 Oil City 13 40 Warren 6 42 Jamestown 15 Lakeview 81 -'QL Q' Row One: D. Missing from picture, Skip Keller. This year's Trojan varsity bas- ketball team, composed almost entirely of seniors, compiled a successful season against some tough competition. Highlighting the season was Coach Fagley's 100th win, an 81-37 rout of Commodore Perry. The team also lost several very close ones, including one-point losses to West Middlesex, Reynolds, and Lakeview. Both Steve Kline and Dave Clelland vied for top scor- ing honors this year, and the battle was still unresolved at the time this was written. The whole team contributed a lot of skill, sweat, and hard work to make this season a real team effort. They have given of themselves and have shown us what they can do. So, congratulations, guys, and good luck to next year's tearn-you have a chal- lenge to beat this year's record. We made due with our small, windowless, white-walled cubbyhole by making a few innovations. The staff decorated the walls with bright posters. After finding that we did not tit in one room, some of us moved out into the hall where we presented a roadblock for aspiring track stars and wieght watchers. These quarters were the site of much controversy, joking, concentration, frustration, hard work, and finally satisfaction in completing the 1972 Troian. 3.
