THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL BRUCE K. DUNHAM B.S., Slippery Rock State College M.Ed., Westminster College ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Class of 1969: Traveling across our nation and simply viewing the scenic beauty of our landscape can be an exhilarating experience. A measure of this beauty may be ascribed to the images created by majestic mountains set against varied kinds of horizons. If you were to ascend one of these peaks, you probably would find at times that your view of the horizon would be temporarily ob- structed by various elements of nature. Yet, when you reached the peak, the vistas of that horizon would be much wider and more clearly defined. This is perhaps comparable to your personal educational experience. You have reached a level on your personal mountain climbing experience and can look out and see a new horizon. ls the horizon that you view one which is wide and clear or would you like to view it from a higher vantage point? lf so, keep climbing until you reach a vantage point that brings you the desired feeling of satisfaction and achievement. How broad and how clear are your horizons? BRUCE K. DUNHAM Assistant Principal Scheduling a club meeting. Fri 14

CLASS OF 1969: You have much in common with Astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders who rode out a six day odyssey on Apollo 8 around the Moon. While they visited our nearest neighbor, you were in a countdown at Greenville Senior High School, to start your own odyssey, with the sky and stars as your goal and you and your desire and drive as the only limi- tation in reaching these heights. On your journey through time and space I offer twelve ideas to guide you: 1. The value of time 2. The success of perseverance 3. The pleasure of working 4. The dignity of simplicity 5. The worth of character 6. The power of kindness 7. The influence of example 8. The obligation of duty 9. The wisdom of economy 10. The virtue of patience 11. The improvement of talent 12. The joy of originating May I extend to each of you my personal best wishes for a successful and rewarding career and a happy life. CARL A. SCOTT Principal THE PRINCIPAL CARL A.
