HEADING THE SCHOOLS . RICHARD B. HOFFMAN B.S., Slippery Rock State College Ed.M., University of Pittsburgh Ed.D., Western Reserve University SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS CLASS OF 1969: Graduation from the Greenville Senior High School has been made possible for you because of many con- tributing factors-I don't believe you can disregard your early formative years as an Elementary student, nor can you pass over those experiences in the Junior High School when you began to branch out and de- velop other talents, it was a constant challenge for teachers to satisfy your appetite for expression. Now having completed the Senior High School program of studies, your preparation is complete. Parents, teachers, the ministerium, and peers have all helped to mold your thinking and your attitude. I hope that during your years in the public school you have learned to value the worth of others. I hope you have recognized that success is the result of personal effort and devotion to objectives. As you now enter into more mature facets of life, may you make every effort your best effort and every failure a lesson learned, but not to be repeated. On behalf of the Board of Education and myself, may I extend congratulations to each of you and best wishes in the adventure of life before you. RICHARD B. HOFFMAN Superintendent GREENVILLE AREA BOARD OF EDUCATION-FRONT ROW: Dr. Herbert G. Gebert, Vice Presidentg Dr. Richard B. CLASS OF 1969: You have much in common with Astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders who rode out a six day odyssey on Apollo 8 around the Moon. While they visited our nearest neighbor, you were in a countdown at Greenville Senior High School, to start your own odyssey, with the sky and stars as your goal and you and your desire and drive as the only limi- tation in reaching these heights. On your journey through time and space I offer twelve ideas to guide you: 1. The value of time 2. The success of perseverance 3. The pleasure of working 4. The dignity of simplicity 5. The worth of character 6. The power of kindness 7. The influence of example 8. The obligation of duty 9. The wisdom of economy 10. The virtue of patience 11. The improvement of talent 12. The joy of originating May I extend to each of you my personal best wishes for a successful and rewarding career and a happy life. CARL A. SCOTT Principal THE PRINCIPAL CARL A. SCOTT B.S., Geneva College Ed.M., University of Pittsburgh SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE-Mr. Carl Scott, Principal, Miss Sandra Beckman and Mrs. Savilla Davis, Secretaries.
