C Cartmill Dear Seniors: I wish to offer you my congratulations for another milestone you are about to reach in life - your graduation from Greenville High School. Your graduation marks an accomplishment because you have laid the foundation and constructed the frame- work upon which you can build a successful future. It represents the attainment of a goal, and even though new and higher goals will be sought, it is proper that at this time that you should experience a feeling of pride in your attainment. Your success will depend upon your ability, philosophy and character. There- fore, you should continue to learn, let no disappointment discourage you and never be a quitter. Always let your conduct be such that you are at peace with yourself. In such a life you will feel a reassuring security as time’s unceasing tide moves in. My best wishes are extended to you as you embark on a new phase of life’s journey. My greatest ambition for you is that you will experience success and hap- piness and that you will always stand strongly for the good, the true, the beautiful. Sincerely yours. Orvis E. Greenville's band has per- formed at a variety of activities this year. The band began its first performance by entertaining the football fans with a great half-time performance. Although jammed in a bus, the band played their favorite marches to add a festive note to the home- coming parade. Other band activities include: FSU Band Day, the Rose Parade, NFJC Homecoming, Pine Tree Festival Parade, District Contest, and the Spring Con- cert. Under our new Director, Mr. Simon Lee, the Band has had a great season. We want to thank you, Mr. Lee, for helping this year to be a successful year. 62 Qreenville High School Marching Band President - Becky McLeod Vice-President - Lanora Day Secretary - Cythia Mathers Treasurer - Anna Lou Barclay Librarian - Frances Cone Assistant Librarian - Georgianne English Head Majorette - Martha J.
