,.-viii! di atio With a devotion to duty, a steadfastness of purpose, a consideration of others, and a loyalty to GHS, you have encouraged us to seek the paths of knowledge. In deep appreciation of this leadership, the staff dedicates the 1957 Nautilus to you, PRINCIPAL FRED L. FOWLER.

foreword IN ONE'S continuous search for knowledge paths that are smooth and unen- cumbered, paths that are rocky and steep, have been opened gradually. Signs and guideposts along the road have pointed the way. Not always has it been to one's advantage to tread the easy trail as the quest for knowledge oftentimes necessitates following a rough path. To learn to choose the right has been ever present. This desire has led to the doors of GHS where life at the school on the hill has shown the straight way to lasting friendships, outstanding honors, unquestionable knowledge, and intangible inspiration. The '57 Nautilus has pictured the blending of the lanes that have joined to form the path of knowledge. 114' 8
