There were representatives from four year colleges, two year colleges, military schools, technical institutes, and private post-secondary schools. BELOU Greg Bosworth and Kim Mudie plan to join the Coast Guard. Variety of Choices Fashions at GHS Over-sized clothes and drawn-up collars characterized girls fashions at GHS. The neon colors of bright yellow, pink and green accented the simplest outfit. Jeans never faded out, but did become trimmed with faded material.. As always jeans were the fashion for boys, but Levis were no more. Guest, Calvin Klein andjordache were seen walking down the hall at every glance. Hair styles were somewhat different this year. Short and bobbed hair became a trend. Boys tended to take to hair styles that had more accent to short hair on the top. Fashions required much more time and effort than in the past, but by the appearance of GHS students many were willing to spend those few extra minutes. !dikr TOP RIGHT: Heidi Ramsey models the comfortable look, TOP RIGHT: Tennis shoes never went out of style for GHS students. Besides receiving the Danforth Award, being named Student of the Month for January 1985, going to Boys ' State, and being named among the Who ' s Who, Anthony was named to the 1st Team All Districts for 83-84, and 84-85. was designated as Sophomore of the year in Basketball, and was Honorable Mention in Baseball and Basketball. In his spare time Anthony likes listening to music, writing poems, jogging, and playing raquetball. Upon graduation, he plans to ma|or in mathematics at Abilene Christian University and become a math teacher. - Kim Mudie When considering all the activities that Kim Mudie has par- ticipated in, her being named an Outstanding Senior is not surprising. Student Council, NHS, FLA, and Spanish Club kept Kim busy, but she also had time for leadership — such as being a Junior class officer and President of FCA for 2 years. Being captain of the volleyball, basketball, and track teams, as well as being named to the 2nd Team All-District for Volleyball, Kim was named Most Athleic Girl. She also received the Danforth Award, AEA awards, was the Rotary Club Student of the Month, and was also a Superintendent ' s Scholar. Kim ' s interests outside of school reflect the well-rounded stu- dent that she is — such as jogging, snow skiing, wind surfing, water skiing, singing in the church choir, and reading and writing poetry. After graduation Kim will attend Texas Tech. She plans to either major in accounting and become a certified public accountant, or major in physical education and become a teacher and coach like her mom. Billy Anderson Being strong in sports as well as being well-liked by people on campus, Billy Anderson earned his title of being an Outstanding Senior. Billy was involved in the FLA and Spanish Club and received honors as being an academic All-American. as well as being voted Most Courteous and Best All Around by his peers. Billy ' s hobbies and interests include playing Softball, watching television, riding around, swimming, and hanging out with friends. He hopes to play professional football but if that falls through he plans to become an Architectural Engineer and start his own business. Al Onley Al Onley was named Outstanding Senior because of his ac- complishments in academics as well as sports. Being Vice-President of NHS as well as being a member of the Varsity Golf Team are only two of the activities that Al has been involved in. Al has also been in the French Club, FLA, Science Club, Drama Club, the Newspaper and Yearbook Staff and was the 1st chair percussionist and a Sophomore officer of the Band. Being voted Most Likely to Succeed, being a teen on Who ' s Who and one of the Outstanding Teens of America, Al was also nominated as a Sophomore and Junior Favorite, was a Superin- tendent ' s Scholar, winner of the AEA award, a member of the All- Region Band, and a runner-up in the Texas State Golf Classic. Outside of school, Al is a member of the American Jr. Golf Association, the Jr. Golf Club Champion at Webb Hill Golf Course, a member of the Ridgecrest Youth Choir, the Youth Choir ' s Ensemble, the Choir Chaplain, and he is on the Ridgecrest Youth Council. After graduation, Al will attend the Youth Congress ' 85 in Washington, D.C. and plans to go into Pre-Med on a partial golf scholarship and partial academic scholarship. Katie Hardaway Katie Hardaway ' s academic ability, involvement in extracur- ricular activities, and vivacious personality made her a natural choice tor Outstanding Senior. Katie has been involved in Band, NHS, FLA, Spanish Club, Stu- dent Council, and FTA as well as taking pictures for the Yearbook. During her Freshman and Senior years Katie was Drum Major for the Band, as well as Band Sweetheart for her Senior year. Outside of school Katie enjoys snow skiing, swimming, and listening to any kind of music. She plans to attend Southwestern University in the fall and hopes to major in some form of elementary education, probably for special children. Mike McBride Heavy involvement in student government and academic ex- cellence made Mike McBride the perfect choice for Outstanding Senior. Mike was a class officer for his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years while in Student Council, and was a member of the Science Club, NHS, FLA, and the German Club. He received the Academic Excellence Award three years in a row, was a Superintendent ' s Scholar, and also was named Student of the Month. Mike spends his extra time playing all sports, especially tennis; reading, listening to music, and going to the movies. His plans for after graduation call for him to go to Texas A M University to study Electrical Engineering. Outstanding Senior Jana Boles This Outstanding Senior, Jana Boles, was also recognized as Most Likely to Succeed by her fellow classmates. Upon graduation, Jana plans to attend East Texas State for one year and then transfer to the University of Texas for her remaining three years. She plans to graduate with a degree m Education. Jana ' s interests are Softball and volleyball teams affiliated with her church. Her awards and honors include AEA Awards, Superintendent ' s Scholar and Commended High Score for the 1983 PSAT-NMSQT. Holly Adams Being named Outstanding Senior was only one of the many honors Holly Adams received. Holly also received high scores on the PSAT, was a Commended Student for the National Merit, a Supermtendent ' s Scholar, and a member of Who ' s Who. Holly was involved in NHS, Spanish Club, Band, and Jazz Band. Hobbies include reading, cooking, waterskiing, and swimming. After graduation. Holly plans to attend the University of Texas.
