Out of the Senior Class of 53 there are just five of us who started together. During our hrst ycarkwe had with us Bill Wattenburg. Frances and Luis Sabala. James Meyers. Jack 01! and blurley 010K . Of course, there were some shiftless ones like James and Bill, who entered other schools but could not stay away. Duringour second year we picked up Loren Bartholf, We entered our third year with new students, but none of them are with us now. Entering our fourth year we picked up the one-and-only Jania Bridgman. Our class accumulated four new students in our fifth year, That year we picked up Joann Larkcy. Jim Stockton. Charlene Edmondson and Peggy Whittaker, At the beginning of our seventh year we thought that Taylorsville. Crescent Mills and Canyon Dam had invaded us, but these new students turned out to be from the various schools around and were at- tending school here. New students that year were La Verne Gates, Barbara McCutcheon, Darrell Little. Paul Powell and Ronald Whaler. We had big heads for awhile but got over it soon, We entered school as eighth-graders. acting like old-timers and looking down on the seventh graders who we knew envied us, Ann Britchgi was the only new student that year. Finally, we were Freshmen and members of the senior high. That is. we would be as soon as we were initiated by the sophomores, That year initiations were stopped; so the sophomores gave us a party to welcome us. Harold Oatman became one of us that year. During the year we staged the first Fresh- man Frolic which has taken place every year since. Ann Britschgl. a freshman girl, was elected basket- ball queen. At last we were sophomores. During the year we gave our Hop. The theme was Thanksgiving and It was a great success, Jim Grace was the only new student during the year, Then came our junior year. We took in only one student. Jack Ridge. That year we staged the Annual Junior Prom which was a great success, The theme was Dancing in the Clouds. James Myers, Bill Wattenburg, Jack Holt and Loren Bartholf played on the championship football team. Our class was represented on the championship B basketball team by Loren, Paul, Jimmy and Luis. That year another girl from our class was elected basketball queen--Barbara McCutcheon. At the end of the year we gave the Junior-Senior Banquet and also the Junior Picnic. After the long struggle we were finally seniors. Now it was time to start ordering announcements. cards. pictures and caps and gowns. We had'a very successful year. The football team won the championship. with Jim. Jack, Bil. Paul, Jimmy, Loren, Jack and James representing our class. Paul received the Sportsmanship Award for football and Jimmy received the award for basketball. Our Senior Ball was really a gala affair and one of the finest ever given. The theme was Chinese New Year. But now the time has finally come for Baccalaureate and Commencement. Now we must leave OHS and go our respective ways in life. Wataw
