Science Dept. Labs prove worthwhile Learning by doing seemed to be the golden rule of the science department this year. Chemistry students performed experiments under the guidanece of a new series of textbooks. Carrying on what could almost be called a tradition, the Advanced Biology classes caught, observed, identified, and classified some 100 species of algae. Pocket calculator sales rose this year, as many physics students used them for difficult problems. This advanced class also visited the Grand Rapids observatory. 24
