Concert Band Performs Publicly The Concert Band members are-Row 1: Nancy Block, julie House, Cheryl Hoffman, Holly Tanner, Debbie Diehl, Marjean Holmes, Cathy Evans and Jane Jensen. Row 2: Connie Davis, Peggy Schooley, Monica Arnold, Cathy Lyndrup, Kurt Fuller, Ben Bauman, Terry Sampson, Theresa Povolo, Lori Burk, Kim Merren, Debbie Reed and Rhonda Rhoddy. Row 3: Lynn Cooper, Valeric Swartz, Kristina Updike, Lee Ann Silverthorn, Bob Foote, Mike Willard, Shelly Newburg, Alan Brewster, Hugh DeWitt, Tom Christiansen, Judy Taylor, Bob Dumond, Dean Dodd, Chris Cantwell, Mary Andrews, Joyce Fluegge, Karen Petersen, Tracy Herron and Jo Rae Lamb. The Concert Band performing at their annual Christmas Concert for the public. Bill Minard and Louis Hamper await a signal from Mr. Martin for them to play the drums. The Concert Band traveled to Muskegon for District Competition and played at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. They performed under the direction of Mr. Jerry Martin. 172

Marching Band is Number One The Marching Band of 140 people got their knees up high this year and marched all over. The band went to The University of Michigan Band Day and marched at Cedar Springs' Marching Festival. At the Cedar Springs Festival they received a first rating. They also have participated in the Danish Festival Parade, the 4-H Parade and the Labor Day Parade. Row 2: Bonnie Troyer, Cheryl Davis, Sandy Oberlin, Diane Antonelli, Clenda Horton, Chris Nelson, Cathy Rivett, Lee Ann Dumond, Marie Williams, Becky Johnson, Sue Nelson and Kim Morey. Row 3: Roxanne Badersnider, Sue Swartz, Jane Johnson, Dennis Dodd, Chris Ranney, Craig Morford, Fred Muns, L. V. Meyering, Michelle Vandcrlip, Chcric Rivett, Bill Gray, Robin Hacker, Emily Braden, Nancy Staffen and Cathy Stuhldreher. Row 5: Tom Taylor, Sue Forton, Robin Perdue, Rob Steele, Eric Lincoln, Jeff Scott, Joe Budge, Bob Johnson and Mr. Jerry Martin. The Symphonic Band had a very busy year. They presented two concerts and traveled to Muskegon for Distric Competition where they received a I rating. They also competed at the State level later in the Spring. Playing the bass clarinets are Kathy Stewart and Debbie Aylsworth. Practicing are Tom Taylor, Rob Steele, Dennis Alles, Chris Hansen, Mike Dolick, Jerry Troyer and Rod Fuller. 173
