Varsity Debate Team Record Better Than Ever This year’s debate team had the best season ever. The team was under the direction of Mr. John Pawlowski. The Varsity debate team record was 8 and 4. The Junior Varsity debate team record was 6 and 6. The Varsity team is composed of more experienced debaters. The Junior Varsity team is composed mainly of first-year debaters. Each spring the debate team advisors get together to vote on the topic to be debated on the next year. This past year the topic was: Resolved: That all public elementary and secondary education should be financed exclusively by the federal government. Varsity debaters are-Row 1: Linda Ballard, Jan Crosby and Amy Kiste. Row 2: Tim Wulf, jeff Perdue and Rick Goodall. Row 3: Alan Helsel, Paul Holbrook, Craig Whitlow and Jim Foster. junior varsity debaters are Row 1: Matt Holbrook, Darcy Riches and Hope Nelson. Ski Club Has An Up And Down Year Ski Club this year was under the direction of Miss Gentry Mohr. The ski trip planned for the year at Traverse City was cancelled because of the lack of snow. The Ski Club members went skiing at Cannonsburg during the winter and cleaned Tower Mountain so that it could be used by area residents. Row I: Miss Mohr, advisor; Hytham Younis, Jim Forton, Kevin Kerbyson, Tim Wulf, Tom Hawes, Janet Wulf, Micky Reynolds. Future Health Careers Offers Opportunities To Those Interested In The Medical Fields The main goal in Future Health Careers is to help those people who are interested in a medically-oriented field. In order to do this, there are guest speakers who come and answer questions and offer any advice or help that they can. This past year an x-ray technician and a physical therapist came to talk to the group and explained their field of work. This year there also was a hot dog roast at the beginning of the year for those who wanted to join the club or were just interested in what the group was doing. The members of Future Health Careers Club are-Row 1: Susette Valence, Enola Green, President; Rhea Thomas. Row 2: Paula Moy, Secretary; Sjana Akkerhuis, Points Chairman; Alicia Remus and Janet Neilson. Row 3: Jo Russell, Barb Harding, Helen Tower, Vice-President. Library Club Members Help Keep Library In Order This year Library Club members sold school pins, held a tea for the teachers and decorated the library during the holidays. Library Club members also work in the library before, during and after school. Library Club was under the direction of Mrs. Estelle Cooper for the 1972-73 school year. Library Club members and officers are: Tony Denkins, Publicity Chairman; Anna Phillips Art Director; Lorie Moy, President; Catherine Phillips, Social Chairman; Mrs. Estelle Cooper.
