Some of the other activities that took place this past year were a canoe trip, providing a coat check during basketball season, holding a raffle for a mini-bike and other items and the cake raffle during halftime at home basketball games. 163

GAA Held Volleyball Tournaments Lori Jorgensen and Julie Fierens are clowning around after a GAA meeting. Lisa Fierens, Sue Jorgensen, Lori Jorgensen and Julie Fierens were on one of the basketball teams this past year. The purpose of Girl’s Athletic Association is to give girls a chance to participate in a sport or sports that she is interested in. This past year GAA sold chocolate candy bars and traveled to Grand Rapids to the YWCA to go swimming. Also, there were volleyball and basketball tournaments. Ski Club Has An Up And Down Year Ski Club this year was under the direction of Miss Gentry Mohr. The ski trip planned for the year at Traverse City was cancelled because of the lack of snow. The Ski Club members went skiing at Cannonsburg during the winter and cleaned Tower Mountain so that it could be used by area residents.
