THE SPOTLIGHT Newspapermen are made. . . . Not Born. Editor Dave Me Gowan and Copy Chief Valois La Berteaux plan an upcoming issue. 16 Kathy Horan works on her business report. Every other Friday afternoon, an issue of The Spotlight is sold in all the classrooms and study areas. It contains the latest news of clubs, organizations, classes, outstanding events and features on teachers and students. The newspaper is produced by the Journalism class, meeting sixth hour every day — 15 who like to report the news of the school. They have to find the story, report it, write it, copyread it, write a headline for it, send it to the printers, and then make up the page for the copy cameras at Greenville Printing Co. In addition, another group sells ads, lays them out, keeps record of the advertisers, and reports to the advisor every two weeks whether the last issue made any money. The Spotlight is self-supporting. So if you’re on the Go . . . and still have to be in the Know . . . READ THE SPOTLIGHT!!
