71494 same P-unqal K 7762. Kama Garland W. Kemper has been principal of Greenville High School since 1954. He grad- uated from Western Kentucky State College in l936, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in eco- nomics, history, and instrumental music. A Master of Arts degree in education was received from the University of Kentucky in 1946. Mr. Kemper has been engaged in the teaching profession as a teacher, band director, and principal in both elementary schools and high schools for twenty-four years. He has served as a full time high school principal for the past twelve years. Previous to his position in Greenville, he was the first principal of the new consolidated Harrison County High School, Cynthiana, Kentucky, 1950-54. lVlr. Kemper has many hobbies, some of which are hunting, fishing, picnicking, cooking charcoaled steaks, traveling, and reading. Since coming to Greenville he has seen an entire student body come and go. The most significant change he has observed is a remarkable improvement in the general attitude of the student body toward the importance of education and toward the development of better study habits and skills. Some of his duties include administrative and supervisory functions relating to students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.

Juan-z S ' of Sabah Wh. 77Z4xwdl William Maxwell, who has been associated with the Greenville Public Schools for the last 17 years as principal of the East Elementary School, hecame Assistant Superintendent of Schools at the beginning of the second semester. Prior to his coming to Greenville, Mr. Maxwell was a teacher and principal for five years, which makes a total of 22 years in the teaching profession. The duties of the new assistant superintendent will include supervising the non-certifi- cated personnel, building maintenance, transportation, cafeterias, etc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University, and a Master of Arts degree from Miami University. His favorite pastimes are golf and traveling. Wh. ifamdh S Mrs. Elherta Eisenhower and Miss Cassel are filling the jobs of secretaries to the Superin- tendent of Schools for their sec- ond and thirty-fifth years, re- spectively. Their d u t i e s in- clude: filing, answering the phone, typing letters from dic- tation, issuing purchase orders for educational supplies, issu- ing work permits, preparing and mailing tuition hills, cut- ting stencils. and other secre- tarial duties. As outside in- terests Mrs. Eisenhower likes to play cards and watch TV. Miss Cassel gives music lessons and enjoys bridge. 776. Kempah Mr. Kemper's secretaries in the office this year are Mrs. Jean Howell and Mrs. Jean Baird. Mrs. Howell, who has been employed at Greenville High School for two years, is kept very husy with permanent rec- ords, eorrespondence, and gen- eral office duties. In hcr more leisure hours music, knitting, reading, and howling occupy her time. A newcomer this year, Mrs. Baird has taken over the duties of controlling the GHS. Ac- tivities Fund, taking numerous inventories, and helping in gen- eral filing and office proce- dures. Reading, bridge, sports, and TV are Mrs. Baird,s out- side interests.
