Mrs. Brown, who serves as his secretary. assists him in these duties.

gdddd0JE Elected by the voters of Greenville public school district, the Board of Ed- ucation has the responsi- bility of supervising the care and maintenance of the public s c h o 0 l s of Greenville. The five board mem- bers, who meet at least once a month throughout the year, have the duties of selecting well quali- fied superintendents, prin- cipals, and teachers. They approve recommendations concerning the selection of textbooksg they set up the courses of study for the entire school system, and supervise the care of the cityis public schools. The Board of Educa- tion puts before the vot- ers all school operating levies and bond issues af- ter they have spent time thoroughly studying the existing situations and needed improvements. s 45,4000 - Wh. Wand .fl native of Preble County, Beryl Hensel has been in school work for 17 years. The last l2 years have been spent in the field of school administration. Prior to coming to Green- ville he served six years as Superintendent ofthe Versailles schools. Mr. Henscl holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Uhio State Uni- versity. and in addition has pursued graduate work at Miami University in the area of school administration. He is quite active in the five professional organizations to which he be- longs. and is also active in community affairs. Reading and golf are his hobbies. lVlr. Hensel has a reputation for being democratic, and he believes that administration is a service activity through which the objectives of the educational process may be more fully and efficiently realized. Ile is quite happy to be in Greenville. lt has always impressed him with its fine schools and community attitudes which make it a desirable place in which to live and rear a family. lle is imp1'essed with the high morale of the student body and teachers. His objective is to make the Greenville Public Schools the best in every way so that students, teachers. and community can continue to be justly proud of their schools.
