Our Freshman class officers were Dick Faulkner, president, Ned Rhoades, vice-presi- dent, .lo Ann Sharp, secretary, Phyllis Miller, treasurer, and Pat O'Brien, reporter. Miss Alexander was our class adviser. During our Freshman year we attended several special assemblies in which different teachers gave us information helpful in choos- ing our course of study for the coming year. Among these talks was one by Mr. Metzger on the traditions of Greenville High School. These programs proved interesting and in- structive. On March 9, 1945, we had our Freshman party, the Cherry Frolic. Everything was decorated in accordance with VVashington's i THE SOPI-IS REPORT Birthday, the original date set for the party. llt was postponed because of the coal short- age.D During the summer of 1945 the following people worked on a revision of the G. H. S. Handbook: Marline Spille, Editor-in-chief, Jack Carpenter, Assistant Editor, Ted Grote, Art Editor, Joan Baker, Assistant Art Editor, Charles Rentz, Activities Editor, Jean Brinley, Assistant Activities Editor, Lorna Crawford, Organization Editor, Nancy Boli, Assistant Organization Editor, Miss Alexander, Faculty Adviser.
