iff? , Kathryn Goodrich, Alice Ann Coppess, Dick Gangwer, Don Reigle. The class ot '47 first became known to G. H. S. in 1943. The otticers were, Helen Dickey, president, Roberta Wogaman, vice- president, Gloria Shiverdecker, secretary, Howard Patton, treasurer, and Betty Brown, reporter. An outstanding activity ot our class that year was the publishing ot the tirst G. H. S. Handbook. This project grew out ot the English classwork and was the first hand- book ever published by G. H. S, It was de- signed primarily to help new students in be- coming adiusted to the customs and tradi- tions ot school. The book was so well received that a new one has been brought out by each succeeding Freshman class. The big event ot the year was the class party, a real pirates' toray. in the election tor Sophomore otticers, the girls won most ot the ottices. Those elected were, Bob Green, president, Jean Taylor, vice-president, Leona Beisner, secretary, Con- nie Monks, treasurer, and Jean Corle, report- er. This cabinet proved to be a good one, even though, or was it because the girls held the upper hand. The class party, The Bum's Rush, was rated as one ot the best parties ever given in G. H. S. In the Junior year the boys came back into the picture. Dick Gangwer was chosen presi- dent, Eddie Karn, vice-president, Alice Cop- pess, secretary, Don Riegle, treasurer, and Kathryn Goodrich, reporter. Highlights of this year were the Junior-Senior prom and the class play, Every Family Has One, di- rected by iviiss Boyer, Junior English teacher. 2-A 1 M - C- -.f,-q',,.i':7L5..ix ROGER LOOK
