For the most effective development of students there must be close cooperation between home and school. Parents must understand what the schools are endeavoring to do, while teachers must try to understand the problems of parents. To bring about this understanding and cooperation is one of the chief aims of the Greenup High School Parent-Teachers Association. To further the cause for education is the chief purpose of our P.T.A., an organization where our parents and teachers are working together for us. MRS. LUTI E D. NICKEL We Thank Her: For making the year 1959-1960 one of our best school years. For giving her day to us, at times not a very rewarding occupation. For her appreciation of our limitations and failings. For her patient endurance of our foolish whims and her ready praise for worthier endeavors. For helping us to appreciate our English and Literature. For her priceless experience which has been used to make our assembly and radio programs successful. All of these things have endeared Mrs. Nickel to the parents, the students and the faculty of Greenup High School. 9

Miss Addle is the title by which she is affectionately known and admired, not only by this year's graduating seniors as their first teacher, but also with all other classes from 1903 to 1949 in the Greenup Elementary School. The patrons of Greenup respect her for her strength of character, thoroughness in her work, vivacious personality and intellectual ability. Retiring from her life's work in 1949, she spends her time enjoying life and warming the hearts of the students whom she has taught by her friendly greetings and cheerful smiles.
